Copolymerization of Hydrophilic and Hydrophobic Monomers in Water Assisted by Cyclodextrins

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2025.
Make it soluble! The formation of inclusion complex between cyclodextrins and a hydrophobic monomer derived from cholic acid improves its solubility in water and allows a successful copolymerization with acrylamide in water. The resulting polymer shows a UCST behavior in water.

Co‐domestication of cold tolerance and female flower is determined by CsEIN2 in cucumber

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 10, Page 4412-4427, October 2025.
Summary Survive and successful reproduction at cold stress are critical for cucumber adaptation to environmental conditions in high‐latitude regions. However, the molecular basis for the co‐domestication of cold adaptation and reproductive success in cucumber remains unknown.

An Adaptive Artificial Neural Network Model for Predicting Friction and Wear in Polymer Matrix Composites: Integrating Kragelsky and Archard Laws

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 310, Issue 9, September 2025.
This study presents a hybrid modeling approach that integrates an artificial neural network (ANN) with Kragelsky’s and Archard’s laws to predict the coefficient of friction (COF) and wear rate in epoxy composites. It emphasizes the superior predictive accuracy for graphite over MoS₂, highlighting the need to consider environmental sensitivity when ...

The Benefit of Space Clocks for the Deep Space Network

open access: yesRadio Science, Volume 60, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract Ground‐based atomic clocks have been the foundation of the Deep Space Network's (DSN's) ability to provide high‐precision tracking to deep space users for navigation and radio science since its inception in the mid‐1960s. This paper describes the development of space clocks that could aid the DSN and the solar system exploration enterprise ...
