Role of taurine on acid secretion in the rat stomach

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Science, 2011
Background Taurine has chemical structure similar to an inhibitory neurotransmitter, γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Previous studies on GABA in the stomach suggest GABAergic neuron is involved in acid secretion, but the effects of taurine are poor ...

Genome-Wide Association Study Confirming a Strong Effect of HLA and Identifying Variants inCSAD/lnc-ITGB7-1on Chromosome 12q13.13 Associated With Susceptibility to Fulminant Type 1 Diabetes [PDF]

open access: yesDiabetes, 2018
The first genome-wide association study of fulminant type 1 diabetes was performed in Japanese individuals. As previously reported using a candidate gene approach, a strong association was observed with multiple single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the HLA region, and the strongest association was observed with rs9268853 in the class II DR region (

On robust optical flow estimation on image sequences with differently exposed frames using primal-dual optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Optical flow methods are used to estimate pixelwise motion information based on consecutive frames in image sequences. The image sequences traditionally contain frames that are similarly exposed. However, many real-world scenes contain high dynamic range

Taurine Alleviates Pancreatic β‐Cell Senescence by Inhibition of p53 Pathway

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 17, Issue 6, June 2025.
Taurine in β cell senescence. ABSTRACT Background Pancreatic β‐cells function deteriorates during aging, leading to increased risk of type 2 diabetes. We and others previously demonstrated that p53 activation triggers β‐cell senescence and dysfunction in aging, but how its activity is controlled remains incompletely understood. Metabolites are not only

The Prebiotic Effect of Kaempferol in Regulating Bile Acid Metabolism

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 3, March 2025.
Kaempferol (Kae) can suppress the expression of CYP7A1, while increasing the CYP27A1 and UGTs expression by activating the liver FXR. Kae modulates the BA profile by decreasing the BSH activities. Kae markedly increases the abundance of beneficial bacteria and inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria.

Pricing dynamics and herding behaviour of NFTs

open access: yesEuropean Financial Management, Volume 31, Issue 2, Page 670-710, March 2025.
Abstract This paper analyzes the sales of 875,389 art nonfungible tokens (NFTs) on the Ethereum blockchain to identify the key determinants influencing NFT pricing and market dynamics. We find that market liquidity and trade volume are strong predictors of NFT prices. Contrarily, social media activity negatively correlates with prices.

CSAD: Unsupervised Component Segmentation for Logical Anomaly Detection

open access: yes
To improve logical anomaly detection, some previous works have integrated segmentation techniques with conventional anomaly detection methods. Although these methods are effective, they frequently lead to unsatisfactory segmentation results and require manual annotations.

Information Asymmetry and Herding Behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Conceptually, the stock market is strong form efficient in the long term. However, in practice, there are various forms of market anomalies that undermine the accuracy of the efficient market hypothesis.
