Crack growth in conventionally manufactured pure nickel, titanium and aluminum and the cold spray additively manufactured equivalents

open access: yesAdditive Manufacturing Letters, 2022
It has recently been shown that when the da/dN versus ΔK curves associated with crack growth in conventionally manufactured, additively manufactured (AM), and cold spray additively manufactured (CSAM) 316L stainless steel are replotted with da/dN ...

Post-Effect on the Centre of Feet Pressure during Stance by Continuous Asymmetric Mediolateral Translations of a Supporting Platform—A Preliminary Study in Healthy Young Adults

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Various diseases are associated with the impaired control of the medio-lateral (ML) position of the centre of feet pressure (CoP), and several manoeuvres have been proposed for enhancing the CoP symmetry.

Anti‐cancer drugs targeting the NADH‐binding site of VDAC rewire channel electrophysiology and partially suppress cation selectivity

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
VA molecules alter VDAC1 gating by increasing anion flow and reducing cation permeability. In cancer cells, which rely on ER‐mitochondria Ca2+ transfer and overexpress VDAC1, this imbalance triggers bioenergetic stress, ROS buildup, and mitochondrial collapse, leading to cell death.

From Exposure to Exploitation: Understanding How Child Pornography Exposure Influences Early Sexual Behaviour and Pathways Into Transactional Sexual Exploitation and Commercial Sexual Exploitation in Sub‐Saharan Africa

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
This review examines how exposure to sexually explicit content among children in sub‐Saharan Africa contributes to early sexual behaviour and pathways into transactional sexual exploitation (informal exploitation) and commercial sexual exploitation (formal exploitation).

A Remote Chronic Disease Management Program to Improve Cardiovascular and Metabolic Outcomes in a Diverse Community‐Based Diabetic Population: Study Design of the TAMIS Trial

open access: yesJournal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice, Volume 32, Issue 4, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are projected to expand in the coming decades as the main cause of death. This study outlines the escalating burden of cardiovascular diseases in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs), particularly in Latin America (LA), which is expected to surpass that of other high‐population ...

Nicotinamide and Pyridoxine Supplementation Enhances Muscle Stem Cell Activity and Muscle Regeneration in Humans: A Randomized Placebo‐Controlled Clinical Trial of High Force Eccentric Contraction Recovery in Healthy Young Men

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 28, 18 May 2026.
In a randomized clinical trial, we test the potential of combined nicotinamide (NAM) and pyridoxine (PN) to improve muscle recovery through muscle stem cell (MuSC) activity. Daily oral NAM and PN supplementation after high intensity muscle contractions enhances MuSC activation and differentiation, and accelerates muscle regeneration, providing new ...

Fluvial connectivity drives carbon cycle dynamics in a tropical mega‐delta

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Coastal estuaries are hotspots of biogeochemical cycling, biodiversity, and sediment processing, yet the drivers of carbon cycle processes remain poorly constrained. Here, we elucidate the influence of hydrological connectivity on carbon biogeochemistry in the Indian Sundarban over successive monsoon seasons by comparing hydrologically ...
