Immune duration of a recombinant PRRSV vaccine expressing E2 of CSFV
Vaccine, 2020Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) and Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) are both important pathogens which seriously harm the economic swine industry worldwide. We have previously demonstrated that rPRRSV-E2 is a promising live, virus-vectored vaccine that provides 100% protection against highly pathogenic PRRSV (HP-PRRSV ...

Isolation and characterization of cytopathogenic classical swine fever virus (CSFV)
Archives of Virology, 1998Two new classical swine fever virus (CSFV) isolates obtained from naturally infected swine were found to exhibit a cytopathogenic (cp) phenotype. According to their reactivity with monoclonal antibodies (mabs) the isolates cpBW1 and cpMVP1 were classified as antigenic types "Lothringen'92" and "Flandern'90", respectively.

A study on the immune response and apoptosis of lymphoid tissues in CSFV-vaccinated pig was performed. The pigs from CSF-free herd 2 years before study were classified into 3 groups, 6 pigs of each; group A and B had average matermal antibody (Ab) ≥ 64 in group A and ≤ 8 in group B and they were vaccinated at 3 week old; group C which had matermal Ab ...

PRRSV infection inhibits CSFV C-strain replication via GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis
Veterinary MicrobiologyClassical swine fever virus (CSFV) and porcine productive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) both are significant infectious pathogens in pigs and pose great threats to the healthy development of the pig industry. PRRSV infection often reduces the antibody level of the CSFV attenuated vaccine and even leads to immune failure.

Early pathogenesis of classical swine fever virus (CSFV) strains in Danish pigs
Veterinary Microbiology, 2012Host-virus interactions play an important role for the clinical outcome of classical swine fever virus (CSFV) infections in pigs. Strain virulence, host characteristics and environment are all factors that markedly influence disease severity. We tested CSFV strains of varying virulence in an experimental set-up, reducing the influence of host and ...

IDO1 promotes CSFV replication by mediating tryptophan metabolism to inhibit NF-κB signaling
Journal of VirologyABSTRACT Tryptophan metabolism plays a crucial role in facilitating various cellular processes essential for maintaining normal cellular function. Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) catalyzes the conversion of tryptophan (Trp) into kynurenine (Kyn), thereby initiating the degradation of Trp.

Minor epidemiological importance of CSFV in “porcine high fever syndrome”
2011The “porcine high fever syndrome (PHFS)” causing severe losses in China has been associated with several agents such as PCV-2, PRRS, APP and streptococcus. The aim of this study was to analyze the importance of CSFV in pigs in PHFS cases in China. Samples originating from 8 farms (733 Sera and 47 tissue samples) were analyzed for presence of CSFV by ...

Cellular immune reponses after classical swine fever virus (CSFV) infection
2001Little is known about the influence of CSFV infection on cell-mediated immune responses. In a preliminary study, we have determined by a quantitative RT-PCR, the production of IFNy and IL4 mRNA in PBMC collected from naive or recovering infected pigs. PBMC were re-stimulated in vitro for two days with the infectious virus before mRNA quantification. We
