Non-Isolated Dandy-Walker Malformation: Exome Sequencing Efficacy and Phenotypic Expansions. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Genet
Exome sequencing identified a diagnosis in 35% of 91 individuals with non‐isolated Dandy Walker malformation (DWM+). Only 24%–55% of these diagnoses could be made using a gene panel. We then demonstrated that DWM is a feature of disorders associated with ANKRD11, C2CD3, COL4A1, KMT2D, KRAS, OPHN1, SHOC2, SMARCB1, and WDR73.

Novel Lysosomal-Associated Transmembrane Protein 4B-Positive Stem-Like Cell Subpopulation Characterizes High-Risk Colorectal Cancer Subtypes. [PDF]

open access: yesMedComm (2020)
This study identified the existence of a novel population of LAPTM4B+ tumor stem‐like cells in addition to the classical LGR5+ tumor stem‐like cells in colorectal cancer (CRC). The combination of LGR5+ and LAPTM4B+ stem‐like cells enable a more refined stratification of CRC, offering potential insights for targeted therapeutic strategies.

Improving Bovine Embryo Development and Quality Using Bovine Oviductal Epithelial Cell-Derived Conditioned Medium (bOEC-CM). [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci
The study investigated the effects of bOEC‐CM on bovine in vitro embryo development. CM from Day 3 enhances blastocyst rate and positively affects the ICM and TE in blastocysts and increases the expression of development‐specific genes. bOEC‐CM may serve as a superior supplement during the final five embryo culture days.

Development and Validation of Pharmacology Concept Inventory for Concept-Based Learning: Leveraging Theory, Expert Insights, and Student Perspectives. [PDF]

open access: yesPharmacol Res Perspect
ABSTRACT Misconceptions in pharmacology can undermine learning and compromise both clinical and scientific reasoning, yet few validated tools exist to identify them. Consequently, we developed and validated the Pharmacology Concept Inventory (PCI), which can be used to identify misconceptions, assess learning gains, and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
