Percutaneous CT-guided pancreatography and pseudocystography [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1979
The diagnosis of pancreatic pseudocyst can be accomplished with a variety of techniques including gray scale ultrasound [1], computed tomography (CT) [2], and endoscopic retrograde pancreatognaphy [3] . Traditionally ultrasound and CT have been the methods of choice for detection of pseudocysts within the pancreas while endoscopic retrograde ...

Evidence‐Based Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Pediatric Febrile Neutropenia: Resource‐Sensitive Recommendations for the Asian Continent

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Febrile neutropenia (FN) is a frequent and serious complication in children receiving cancer therapy. Standardizing FN management across Asia is challenging due to variable healthcare infrastructure, diagnostic capacity, and infection patterns; however, it could improve resource use and patient outcomes.

Structures of mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase reveal carrier‐domain translocation between catalytic sites

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase uses a mobile biotin‐carrying domain to shuttle a carboxyl group between two catalytic sites, enabling carboxylation of 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA during leucine breakdown. Cryo‐electron microscopy captures the carrier at both sites and reveals an inward loop movement that may prevent futile rebinding to the ...

Prospecting the protein design landscape

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review outlines the current state of various protein design approaches. We discuss the current possibilities enabled by recently released tools, highlight future avenues to pursue in protein design, and underscore the crucial role of key databases and resources for successful protein design workflows.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Real-time CT/MR fusion imaging-guided core needle biopsy: enhancing diagnostic precision in head and neck lesions

open access: yesInsights into Imaging
Objectives To establish an intraoperative CT/MR fusion imaging (FI)-guided core needle biopsy (CNB) approach for head and neck lesions and to evaluate its diagnostic performance in comparison with conventional CT-guided biopsy.

Comparison of CT-Guided needle biopsy versus percutaneous endoscopic debridement and drainage in pathogen identification and pain outcomes for spondylodiscitis patients: A systematic review and literature review

open access: yesBrain and Spine
Introduction: Spondylodiscitis (SD) is an infection of the intervertebral disc with involvement of the adjacent vertebral bodies. Diagnostic tests with CT-guided biopsy only provide a positive yield in 14%–48% of cases.

CT-guided procedures: an initial experience

open access: yesMedicine and Pharmacy Reports, 2018
Background and aims. Despite their usefulness, CT-guided procedures have a low profile in Romania. The current study has the purpose of describing a first experience in performing these procedures.Methods. Tumors and fluid collections that were inaccessible for biopsy or drainage by ultrasound or endoscopic guidance were included.
