Where water meets rock: Ecological niches and diversity hotspots of hygropetric beetles in the Neotropics

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
First continental‐scale synthesis of hygropetric beetle diversity and distribution across Neotropical highlands. Climatic and topographic gradients structure regional assemblages and niche overlap. Ecological convergence suggests adaptation to similar conditions across disjunct regions.

Phase 1/2 study of pacritinib, a next generation JAK2/FLT3 inhibitor, in myelofibrosis or other myeloid malignancies

open access: yesJournal of Hematology & Oncology, 2016
Background Pacritinib (SB1518) is a highly selective kinase inhibitor with specificity for JAK2, FLT3, IRAK1, and CFS1R. This multicenter phase 1/2 study evaluated the maximum tolerated dose (MTD), safety, and clinical activity of pacritinib in patients ...

Investigation of the Suitability of the ROTEM Assay to Measure Coagulation Potential in Blood From Patients on Concizumab Prophylaxis

open access: yesHaemophilia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) aims to measure the coagulation potential in whole blood. Concizumab, an anti‐tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) antibody for prophylaxis in haemophilia, enhances tissue factor (TF)‐initiated coagulation by preventing inhibition of activated factor X (FXa), thus increasing thrombin ...

Impact of the Distance From the Cavotricuspid Isthmus to the Right Coronary Artery on First‐Pass Conduction Block During Cryoablation for Atrial Flutter

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia
Background Cryoablation is an alternative to radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI)‐dependent atrial flutter (AFL).

Preventive pulmonary vein isolation in patients with cavotricuspid isthmus ablation: PREVENT-AF Study I

open access: yesПатология кровообращения и кардиохирургия, 2015
Background. Although catheter ablation of isthmus-dependent atrial flutter (AFL) is extremely successful at eliminating the target arrhythmia, many patients subsequently experience a new onset of atrial fibrillation (AF) due to shared mechanisms.

The Cognitive Costs of Sleep Deprivation in Ultra‐Endurance Cycling: Insights From the Race Across France

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT For athletes in endurance sports, who compete over several days and in unpredictable conditions, managing sleep–wake rhythms is critical to ensure optimal performance and minimise the risks to safety. Despite its growing popularity, the role of sleep management on ultracycling performance has received little attention.
