Magnetic correlations on the full chains of Ortho-II YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6.5}$
We propose that the NMR line shape on the chain Cu in the stoichiometric high-$T_c$ superconductor Ortho-II YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6.5}$ is determined by the magnetization induced on Cu near O vacancies, due to strong magnetic correlations in the chains.

Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Cu(II)/Cu(I)/Cu Redox in Alkali Borate Melts
Electrochemical method was applied to the redox study of copper oxides in alkali borate melts of 0.3M 2 O.0.7B 2 O 3 (M=Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs). Comparison was also made of the materials of the working electrode in addition to Pt to elucidate the redox steps.
