Fluid Origin and Evolution of the Roc Blanc Silver Deposit (Jebilet Massif, Variscan Belt, Morocco): Constraints from Geology and Fluid Inclusions

open access: yesGeofluids, 2022
The Roc Blanc Pb-Zn-Ag-Au vein deposit is located in the NW of Marrakech, in the Central Jebilet massif. It is spatially related to Bramram-Tabouchennt-Bamega (BTB) granodioritic pluton (ca. 330 Ma) metamorphism aureole.

Exchange and correlation effects in the relaxation of hot electrons in noble metals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We report extensive first-principles calculations of the inelastic lifetime of low-energy electrons in the noble metals Cu, Ag, and Au. The quasiparticle self-energy is computed with full inclusion of exchange and correlation (xc) effects, in the ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Whole Genome Sequence Analysis of Cupriavidus necator C39, a Multiple Heavy Metal(loid) and Antibiotic Resistant Bacterium Isolated from a Gold/Copper Mine

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2023
Here a multiple heavy metal and antibiotic resistant bacterium Cupriavidus necator C39 (C. necator C39) was isolated from a Gold-Copper mine in Zijin, Fujian, China. C. necator C39 was able to tolerate intermediate concentrations of heavy metal(loid)s in

System size dependence of elliptic flows in relativistic heavy-ion collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The elliptic flows in both Cu+Cu and Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider are studied in a multi-phase transport model. For both collisions at same reduced impact parameter and minimum bias collisions, the elliptic flow of partons in ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Hamiltonians with Riesz Bases of Generalised Eigenvectors and Riccati Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An algebraic Riccati equation for linear operators is studied, which arises in systems theory. For the case that all involved operators are unbounded, the existence of infinitely many selfadjoint solutions is shown. To this end, invariant graph subspaces

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Hydrometallurgical Process for Selective Metals Recovery from Waste-Printed Circuit Boards

open access: yesMetals, 2018
This paper presents an experimentally-proved hydrometallurgical process for selective metals recovery from the waste-printed circuit boards (WPCBs) using a combination of conventional and time-saving methods: leaching, cementation, precipitation ...

Energy dependent kinetic freeze-out temperature and transverse flow velocity in high energy collisions

open access: yes, 2018
Transverse momentum spectra of negative and positive pions produced at mid-(pseudo)rapidity in inelastic or non-single-diffractive proton-proton collisions and in central nucleus-nucleus collisions over an energy range from a few GeV to above 10 TeV are ...
