ABSTRACT Liver fibrosis is a serious yet reversible intermediate stage in the progression of liver disease, which can ultimately advance to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Targeted and selective inhibition of activated hepatic stellate cells (aHSCs) has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of liver fibrosis.

Recognizing the Enemy: Rap Music In the Wake of the Los Angeles Riots [PDF]
The May 1992 riots in Los Angeles demonstrated more than anything in recent history that the inner cities are filled with despair, hopelessness, and anger. Some feel that rap music is responsible for both gangs and the lawlessness unleashed by the riots.

Beyond Earth: Resilience of Quasi‐2D Perovskite Solar Cells in Space
In the article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202520433), Christoph Putz and co‐workers demonstrate rigid quasi‐2D perovskite solar cells operating in low Earth orbit, delivering stable power for more than 100 days under real‐space conditions. In‐orbit performance is correlated with extensive ground‐based thermal and proton‐irradiation studies on rigid and ...

Burgess's Bounds for Character Sums [PDF]
We prove that Burgess's bound gives an estimate not just for a single character sum, but for a mean value of many such sums.Comment: Minor changes and addition of reference to Gallagher ...

Between a White Cube, Black Box, and Warehouse: Constructing Spaces for Contemporary Art throughout the Recent Museum Building Boom [PDF]
Since the 1990s, museum buildings and the art housed inside them have undergone dramatic changes. Once canonical structures, they have evolved to more suitably contain new art forms and reflect the expanding and dynamic purposes of the museum.

Exploring the Potential of Microwave Annealing for Enhancing Si‐based GeSn Lasers
We explore low‐thermal‐budget microwave annealing to enhance the performance of group‐IV GeSn lasers on Si. Microwave annealing under optimal conditions can simultaneously relax unwanted compressive strain and enhance the material quality of the GeSn active layer, thereby reducing the threshold and increasing the laser operating temperature.

Hydration of magnesia cubes: a helium ion microscopy study
Physisorbed water originating from exposure to the ambient can have a strong impact on the structure and chemistry of oxide nanomaterials. The effect can be particularly pronounced when these oxides are in physical contact with a solid substrate such as ...
