Sputtered Amorphous Boron Nitride‐Silicon Oxide Composite Toward Thickness‐Scalable Low‐k Interlayer Dielectric Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 22, November 19, 2025.
Amorphous boron nitride (aBN) crystallizes into turbostratic BN as the thickness increases, leading to a higher dielectric constant (k‐value), increased leakage current density, and reduced breakdown field. Incorporating SiOx layers effectively prevents this crystallization.

Electrical Conductivity of Hydrous SiO2: Implications for the Superionic State and High Conductivity Anomalies Beneath Subduction Zones

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract Electrical conductivity (EC) is a key physical property of minerals and rocks that constrains the composition and structure of Earth's deep interior. Theoretical studies predict that the CaCl2‐type hydrous Al‐bearing SiO2 phase, present in subducted crustal materials, becomes superionic—where protons are no longer bonded to specific oxygen ...

Wear Study of Cubic Boron Nitride (cBN) Cutting Tool for Machining of Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) with Different Metalworking Fluids

open access: yesLubricants, 2022
Due to its desirable mechanical properties, compacted graphite iron (CGI) has been used to replace conventional gray cast iron (CI) in various applications, such as automotive engine blocks and cylinder heads. However, the poor machinability of CGI can lead to excessive tool wear and consequently high manufacturing costs.
