3D Cellular Automata of Polymer Structural Response to Solvent Quality

open access: yesMacromolecular Theory and Simulations, Volume 35, Issue 6, November 2026.
A minimal three‐dimensional cellular automaton captures solvent‐dependent polymer collapse, θ‐like scaling, swelling, and aggregation through simple local interaction rules. Radius‐of‐gyration scaling identifies the θ regime, while multichain simulations reveal that free chain ends and periodic self‐connection strongly govern structural reorganization,

A Simple, Dynamic Geometric Phantom for MRI and CT Reconstruction Pipelines: Beyond Shepp–Logan

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 5, Page 2451-2457, November 2026.
ABSTRACT A customizable, dynamic geometric phantom was developed to bridge the gap between simplistic static phantoms and highly realistic, complex 4D solutions. The phantom enables initial testing, helps detect implementation errors, and supports quantitative evaluation of new dynamic acquisition and reconstruction methods.

Solid particles focusing, orienting, and de‐focusing in planar Poiseuille flow

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 72, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Three‐dimensional, time‐dependent lattice‐Boltzmann simulations of neutrally buoyant particles in planar Poiseuille flow have been performed. The particles are spherical or cylindrical (the latter with a length over diameter ratios in the range 1/3 to 2) and have volume fraction ranging from virtually zero (one particle) to 0.15. The channel's

Threat Effects and Work Incentives: Evidence From a Danish Sick Leave Reform

open access: yesHealth Economics, Volume 35, Issue 10, Page 1496-1518, October 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the effects of a 2014 policy reform on paid sick leave in Denmark. The reform shortened the eligibility period from 56 to 26 weeks for paid sick leave and introduced a mandatory return‐to‐work activation program for individuals whose benefits were not extended. The reform initially led to a temporary increase in returns

Investigation of Tribotechnical Characteristics of Epoxy Composites Containing Al2O3, ZnO, and PTFE Using Neural Networks

open access: yesSPE Polymers, Volume 7, Issue 4, October 2026.
Schematic of tribological studies using neural networks. ABSTRACT The paper investigates the dependence of wear intensity and friction coefficient of epoxy composites on the content of fillers—aluminum oxide (Al2O3), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and zinc oxide (ZnO).

Misaligning Cascaded Liquid Crystal Elements for Continuously Tunable Axial Spin‐Dependent Splitting

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 17, 11 September 2026.
Continuously tunable axial spin splitting is achieved by controlling the lateral misalignment of cascaded Pancharatnam‐Berry phase liquid crystal elements. The displacement generates a spin‐dependent quadratic phase, enabling linear, sign‐reversible focal adjustment and dynamic focus interchange for orthogonal circular polarizations.
