Mapping sex‐specific associations of adiposity with age‐related cognitive decline and multimodal Alzheimer's pathology

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION The adiposity–cognition relationship in aging is controversial. This study aimed to assess its sex‐ and age‐specific associations with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) pathology using multimodal biomarkers. METHODS In two longitudinal cohorts (Hubei Memory and Aging Cohort Study [HMACS], n = 2,349; Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging ...

Tribochemical Interface Engineering of TiS4–Argyrodite Composites for Metal Sulfide‐Based Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 9, September 2026.
Amorphous TiS4 is studied structurally and electrochemically as a dry‐processed cathode for sulfidic solid‐state batteries. High‐energy ball milling (HBM) outperforms low‐energy milling, delivering up to 1110 mAh gS−1. HBM dry‐film cathodes retain 950 mAh gS−1 after 80 cycles, establishing tribochemical processing as a key strategy for high‐energy ...

Efficient, Capsule‐Free Nymphal Ixodid Tick Placement for Site‐Specific Attachment to Assess Anti‐Tick Host Behavior and Immune Responses

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Ixodid ticks are among the most widespread and permissive groups of arthropod disease vectors in the world. They transmit various viral, bacterial, protozoan, and even nematode pathogens infective for humans and animals. Ticks are essential to studying pathogen transmission and infection in a new host; however, exposing in vivo models to ticks

Materials and Music: Selective Imperfection as a Generative Framework for Analysis, Creativity and Discovery

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, Volume 5, Issue 5, Page 834-867, September 2026.
Vibrations in matter, from spider webs to molecules, water to flames, share a grammar with music. We propose that creativity emerges when constraints force expansion beyond existing possibilities. Selective imperfection restores balance, enabling invention.

Deep learning‐assisted design of nanozyme for immune regulation

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Medicine, Volume 3, Issue 3, Page 250-276, September 2026.
Overview of nanozyme‐based strategies for inflammatory bowel disease therapy, featuring metal‐based and non‐metallic nanozymes classified by structure, alongside multifunctional and engineered probiotic‐based nanozymes classified by function. Abstract Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with rising global incidence and disease burden, is a multifactorial
