Fueling the fire: Anger, external political efficacy, and support for antisocial political behavior surrounding the 2024 U.S. presidential election

open access: yesPolitical Psychology, Volume 47, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract The 2024 US presidential election unfolded in an environment of heightened polarization, widespread distrust, and unprecedented public anger. Drawing on the Anger Activism Model (AAM), we examined this period of history to assess how anger interacts with external political efficacy to shape opposition toward democratic behaviors and support ...

Asymmetry of the Ferroelectric Phase Transition in BaTiO3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Phase transitions are typically assumed to behave identically in forward and reverse. This work shows that in the ferroelectric material barium titanate this is not true: heating drives an abrupt, first‐order jump, while cooling gives a smooth, continuous change.

Boosting Photo‐Pyroelectric Effect via Tunable Polarization and Interfacial Defect Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
This study reports Ba(Ti0.85Zr0.15)O3 nanocatalysts with enhanced polarization and oxygen‐vacancy‐rich interfaces for efficient NIR‐II photo‐pyroelectric therapy. Zr doping boosts the pyroelectric coefficient and accelerates polarization switching, while oxygen vacancies improve photothermal conversion and surface reactivity.

Integrative Analyses Identify a cGAS‐STING Pathway‐Driven Signature With Context‐Dependent Roles in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Zhang et al. identify M7core, a critical cGAS‐STING pathway‐driven gene signature that is activated in most lupus patients’ blood and links to lupus disease severity, lymphopenia, and lupus nephritis. They further reveal the diagnostic and pathogenic characteristics of M7core and emphasize the importance of assessing pathway activity before initiating ...
