Development of an Artificial Intelligence–Driven Three‐Dimensional Reconstruction Model of Renal Vasculature for Surgical Planning in Robot‐Assisted Partial Nephrectomy

open access: yesThe International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery, Volume 22, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background This single‐centre study aimed to implement and internally validate a deep learning pipeline based on a 3D SegResNet architecture for automatic segmentation of renal vascular structures from contrast‐enhanced CT images, enabling accurate three‐dimensional reconstructions to support surgical planning in robot‐assisted partial ...

Directional X‐Ray Scattering and Microtomography for Laboratory‐Based Imaging of Fibrous Materials and Biological Tissues

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2026.
A compact laboratory X‐ray system enables directional dark‐field imaging and tomography with sensitivity to scattering along two orthogonal directions. The approach provides volumetric mapping of sub‐resolution microstructure in engineering and biological samples, which reveals structural heterogeneity, fiber organization, and anisotropic scattering ...

AI‐assisted automated endpoint interpretation for turbidity‐based digital LAMP using bright‐field microscopy

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
Turbidity‐based digital LAMP offers a low‐cost alternative for nucleic acid quantification, but interpreting bright‐field images is difficult due to weak contrast and noise. We developed NanoFuse‐YOLO11, an AI‐based detection model that automatically identifies positive reaction units in turbidity microscopy images.

Forecasting Continuum Intensity for Solar Active Region Emergence Prediction Using Transformers

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Early and accurate prediction of solar active region (AR) emergence is crucial for space weather forecasting. Building on established Long Short‐Term Memory (LSTM) based approaches for forecasting the continuum intensity decrease associated with AR emergence, this work expands the modeling with new architectures and targets.

Global Subseasonal‐to‐Seasonal Marine Heatwave Forecasts Boosted by Explainable Deep Learning

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Marine heatwaves (MHWs) pose increasing risks to marine ecosystems and climate‐sensitive activities. Subseasonal‐to‐seasonal (S2S) MHW forecasts are essential for early warning, yet dynamical prediction systems show limited reliability. Here, we present MHWCorrNet, an interpretable deep learning‐based post‐processing framework for ECMWF IFS ...
