Reducing the replication time for structural estimations: A successful replication of “An Anatomy of International Trade” using GPU computing

open access: yesEconomic Inquiry, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 424-440, April 2025.
Abstract Eaton, Kortum, and Kramarz (2011) (EKK) discovered empirical patterns from French manufacturing firms that a baseline firm heterogeneity model could not explain. The authors proposed and estimated a model that closely matches the patterns observed in French data.

A Non‐Destructive Method for Sex Identification in a Tubuliferan Thrips

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
Accurate sex identification of the biological control agent Pseudophilothrips ichini Hood (Thysanoptera: Phlaeothripidae) is a useful tool for colony management and experimental applications in biological control. Destructive methods of sex identification limit specimen usage, prompting the need for a sex identification method for live thrips.

Opposing roles of DGAT‐mediated lipid droplet biogenesis in the regulation of ferroptosis sensitivity

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Ferroptosis is driven by unrestricted peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acyl (PUFA) chains in membrane phospholipids. In triple‐negative breast cancer cells, lipid droplets (LDs) sequester dietary PUFAs, limiting their incorporation into membrane phospholipids, preventing mitochondrial damage, and reducing lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.

Location of fueling stations and routing of zero‐emission well‐boats in the Norwegian aquaculture industry

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, EarlyView.
Abstract We study the problem of locating hydrogen fueling stations for zero‐emission aquaculture vessels in Norway and model the problem as a location‐routing problem, considering both the location of hydrogen fueling stations and the routing of aquaculture vessels.

Reproducibility assessment of Dextrusion: A deep learning pipeline for detecting epithelial cell extrusion events

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Reproducibility is essential for scientific software but can be hindered by technical and maintenance challenges. As part of the Global Bioimage Analyst Society reproducibility initiative, we evaluated Dextrusion, a deep learning pipeline for detecting epithelial cell extrusion events published by Villars et al.
