Foveated light culling

Computers & Graphics, 2021
Abstract In this paper, we propose a novel Foveated Light Culling (FLC) method to efficiently approximate global illumination for foveated rendering in virtual reality applications. The key idea is to cull the virtual point lights (VPLs) in accordance with their contribution to the visual perception, which makes the loss of details caused is ...

Clustered Backface CUlling

Journal of Graphics Tools, 1998
Summary: This paper presents a simple, practical, and effective backface-culling technique for clusters of polygons, as well as a method for generating efficient clusters from a set of triangle strips. The cluster-backface test is directly derived from the traditional single-polygon test, and has about the same complexity.

FMD and the contiguous cull

Veterinary Record, 2006
SIR, — Without wishing to prolong the argument, I was pleased to read the letter from Alex Donaldson ( VR , November 11, 2006, vol 159, pp 686-687), because it confirms that, where necessary, animals have to be slaughtered to create a ‘firebreak’ and stop the further spread of disease ...

Culling before testing in swine: identification of culling strategy and estimation of culling precision.

Journal of Animal Science, 1999
The aim of this simulation study was to identify culling strategy and to estimate culling precision based on various characteristics available in field data in order to evaluate the ability to detect situations in which adjustment for missing data should be applied in genetic evaluation.

Culling for survival

Blood, 2008
In this issue of Blood , Waning and colleagues investigate the function of the ubiquitin ligase Cul4A, known for its involvement in protein degradation and histone modification. The present study reveals an essential requirement for Cul4A in hematopoiesis.

Dynamics modeling and culling

IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 1999
The tools described, permit including large numbers of complex dynamic models in a VRML world easily and efficiently while maintaining high frame rates. We describe three tools that together provide an environment for authoring cullable, dynamic, rigid-body objects in VRML and Java: a code transformation tool that exploits approximations to dynamical ...

Culling.

2019
Abstract Culling is a quality control procedure and as such is possibly one of the most important procedures to be carried out in the nursery. It ensures that only healthy and uniform nursery palms are maintained and these are likely to give the highest yields after planting in the field.

Badger culling consultation

Veterinary Record, 2006
SIR, — The predictable has happened. To nobody's surprise, a largely uninformed, and often misinformed, electorate has sent a clear anti-culling message to government. Public opinion, it seems, continues to dictate government policy.
