On the study of the cumulative residual extropy of mixed used systems and their complexity

open access: yesProbability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences
In this paper, we use an information theoretic approach called cumulative residual extropy (CRJ) to compare mixed used systems. We establish mixture representations for the CRJ of mixed used systems and then explore the measure and comparison results among these systems.

Stochastic inequalities involving past extropy of order statistics and past extropy of record values [PDF]

open access: yes
Recently, extropy has emerged as an alternative measure of uncertainty instead of entropy. When it comes to quantifying uncertainty regarding the remaining lifetime of a component, entropy has proven to be less effective.

On weighted residual varextropy: characterization, estimation and application [PDF]

open access: yes
In recent years, the study of variability in uncertainty measures has gained significant interest in information theory. In this context, the concept of varextropy has been introduced and investigated by several researchers.

A Goodness-of-Fit Test for the Geometric Distribution Based on a Ratio of Estimators Derived from Order Statistics [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper introduces a novel goodness-of-fit test for the Geometric distribution, designed to address shortcomings in detecting specific, yet common, departures from the null hypothesis, such as over-dispersion and non-constant hazard rates, the core of

Complex Adaptation and Permissionless Innovation: An Evolutionary Approach to Universal Basic Income [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Universal Basic Income (UBI) has been proposed as a potential way in which welfare states could be made more responsive to the ever-shifting evolutionary challenges of institutional adaptation in a dynamic environment.

Generalized Gini's mean difference through distortions and copulas, and related minimizing problems

open access: yes, 2023
Given a random variable $X$ and considered a family of its possible distortions, we define two new measures of distance between $X$ and each its distortion.

Stochastic comparisons, differential entropy and varentropy for distributions induced by probability density functions [PDF]

open access: yes
Stimulated by the need of describing useful notions related to information measures, we introduce the ‘pdf-related distributions’. These are defined in terms of transformation of absolutely continuous random variables through their own probability ...

Uncertainty quantification based on residual Tsallis entropy of order statistics [PDF]

open access: yes
In this study, we focused on investigating the properties of residual Tsallis entropy for order statistics. The reliability of engineering systems is highly influenced by order statistics, for example, when modeling the lifetime of a series system and ...

Measures of cumulative residual Tsallis entropy for concomitants of generalized order statistics based on the Morgenstern family with application to medical data [PDF]

open access: yes
Ever since Tsallis introduced Tsallis entropy theory, it has been applied to a wide variety of topics in physics and chemistry, with new applications being discovered annually.

Reliability analysis of the Lindley distribution via unified hybrid censoring with applications in medical survival and biological lifetime data [PDF]

open access: yes
Unified hybrid censored sampling results from the need to effectively evaluate survival data impacted by different censoring techniques, enabling researchers to use partial information and lower bias in parameter estimates.
