Biomass-based curing agents for sustainable leather processing
The biomass utilization without purification and fractionation through a non-selective manner is the best option for high conversion efficiency. Leftover and abundant plant biomass can be a source of preservatives if they keep antimicrobial activity ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The influence of carbon black on curing kinetics and thermal aging of acrylonitrile–butadiene rubber [PDF]
Elastomers based on a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile (NBR) have excellent oil resistance but are very sensitive for degradation at very high temperatures.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

INFLUENCE OF QUANTITATIVE ALLOYING OF TOOL STEELS FOR HOT DEFORMATION ON THE LEVEL OF HARDENING
The influence of complexly experimental tool steels: C (0,4–0,50%), Si (0,6–1,2%), Mn (0,17–0,8%), Cr (0,8–3%), W (0,9– 4%), Mo (0,01–3.5%) and V (0,28–1,8%) on their ability to hardening due to only high-temperature tempering after induction melting ...

The electrohydraulic method for meat tenderization and curing
The paper examines the problem of meat raw material curing in production of whole-piece meat products. The intensification methods for the process of penetration and distribution of curing ingredients throughout a product are described.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
