The Exchange Rate Exposure of U.S. and Japanese Banking Institutions [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we examine the foreign exchange exposure of a sample of U. S. and Japanese banking firms. Using daily data, we construct estimates of the exchange rate sensitivity of the equity returns of the U.S.

Fast Charge–Discharge of LiNi0.9Co0.05Mn0.05 Enabled by a Bikitaite‐Infused Separator for Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bikitaite‐infused cellulose separator is introduced for Li metal batteries, leveraging bikitaite zeolite's ion‐conductive properties to regulate Li+‐ion flux and suppress dendrite growth. The membrane design ensures uniform Li plating, enhanced electrolyte wettability, and robust thermal/mechanical stability, delivering stable performance and low ...

Exchange Rate Regimes and the Extensive Margin of Trade [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper finds that currency unions and direct exchange rate pegs raise trade through distinct channels. Panel data analysis of the period 1973-2000 indicates that currency unions have raised trade predominantly at the extensive margin, the entry of ...

Texoskeletons: Developing the Fundamental Technologies for Creating Intelligent Soft Robotic Clothing With Integrated 1D Sensors and Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional wearable exoskeletons rely on rigid structures, which limit comfort, flexibility, and everyday usability. This work introduces the fundamental technologies to create the first soft, lightweight, intelligent textile‐based exoskeletons (Texoskeletons) built using 1D sensors and actuators.

Real Exchange Rate Misalignment: Prelude to Crisis? [PDF]

open access: yes
A model of the long run equilibrium real exchange rate based upon macroeconomic fundamentals is employed to calculate real exchange rate misalignments for Poland and Russia during the 1990s using the Beveridge and Nelson (1981) decomposition of ...

Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.
