Programmable current mode circuits
ICECS 2001. 8th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01EX483), 2002The paper presents a new concept of switched transconductor (ST) circuits based on the application of operational amplifiers with adjustable transconductance. It is proved that in the delay circuits proposed, one can electronically adjust its amplification, which was not possible with SI 1st and 2nd generation circuits.

A current-mode chaotic oscillator
2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006A current-mode chaotic oscillator based only on current mirrors is studied. The oscillator is suitable for synchronization and application in secure communications. It operates on high frequencies and is suitable for on chip implementation. Its chaotic behavior is controlled by means of a bias voltage.

Current-mode network transformations
Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002Current-mode network transformations are presented from which it is possible to generate new current-mode circuits by performing simple operations on the network. These transformations are developed by interchanging the ports of a current-mode circuit and exploiting the properties of current-conveyors and RC networks.

Current Mode Pipelined a/d Converter
2005 12th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2005This paper presents a high speed and a high resolution pipelined a/d converter relying on a current mode technique. The a/d converter structure is composed of current mode building blocks. All building blocks have been designed in CMOS AMS 0.8 mum technology, then simulated and measured to verify proposed concept.

Current-mode A/D fuzzy converter
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 2002This paper presents a general architecture for an analog-to-digital (A/D) fuzzy converter which performs the A/D conversion and the fuzzification operation on the same functional block, through a programmable membership function. The solution uses as main blocks an A/D converter, a comparator, and some logic inverters and switches.

An improved current mode instrumentation amplifier
Proceedings of Third International Conference on Electronics, Circuits, and Systems, 2002A current mode instrumentation amplifier in CMOS technology, is presented. The circuit is based on the use of two second generation positive current conveyors and a current differential output stage. The device exhibits high common-mode rejection ratio which is gain unaffected in a wide frequency band.

Current mode ternary D/A converter
Proceedings Eleventh International Conference on VLSI Design, 2002In this paper current mirror sources have been employed to design a ternary D/A converter. A much better performance and area saving over the 3R-4R resistive network has been achieved.

Abstract With the arrival of monolithic processes for the fabrication of bipolar transistors during the mid-1960s, it seemed like a good time to examine new paradigms for design. Current-mode (CM) was attractive because it suggested that small voltages swings could be used to process analog signals represented as currents; whatever voltages that did ...
