Analysis on structural parameters and electrical performance of dc deep well grounding electrode

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Deep well-grounding electrodes (DWGE) have advantage of smaller occupied area, and the number of sub-ground electrodes is less than that of the vertical grounding electrodes, thus has a good development prospects.

Generation of Troughs by Density Currents

open access: yesCoastal Engineering 1976, 1976
Along the northern bank of the so-called "Maasgeul" scour has occurred, causing a trough. It is concluded from field measurements that the trough development is induced by density currents along the slope of the bank. The stratified flow system is dealt with mathematically.

Pyroclastic density currents

open access: yes, 2013
This chapter summarizes the principal experimental and theoretical approaches used to investigate the physics of pyroclastic density currents (PDCs), which are gravity driven hot gas–particle mixtures commonly generated during explosive volcanic eruptions.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Process Control in Jet Electrochemical Machining of Stainless Steel through Inline Metrology of Current Density

open access: yesMicromachines, 2019
Jet electrochemical machining (Jet-ECM) is a flexible method for machining complex microstructures in high-strength and hard-to-machine materials. Contrary to mechanical machining, in Jet-ECM there is no mechanical contact between tool and workpiece ...

Effects of rotation and sloping terrain on fronts of density current fronts

open access: yes, 2005
The initial stage of the adjustment of a gravity current to the effects of rotation with angular velocity f/2 is analysed using a short time analysis where Coriolis forces are initiated in an inviscid von Kármán–Benjamin gravity current front at tF=0. It

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Which dominates CO2 to CO electroreduction from low to industrial current density: Catalyst activity or CO2 availability?

open access: yes
Electrochemical reduction of CO2 (CO2RR) offers a sustainable route for converting renewable electricity into value-added chemicals. However, scaling CO2RR to industrially relevant current densities remains challenging due to intrinsic kinetics barriers,

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
