Harmonic analysis of current waveforms using optical current sensor

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2002
This paper reports on the research and development of an optical current sensor for harmonic analysis within the electricity supply network. The device has a measurement capability, limited by the sampling frequency of the analog-to-digital converter, to around 20 kHz. We report on experimental verification of these measurements up to the 60th harmonic

Influence of Harmonic System Voltages on the Harmonic Current Emission of Photovoltaic Inverters

2007 International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2007
Harmonic currents of photovoltaic (PV)-inverters show a significant dependency on the harmonic voltage content of the alternating current (AC)-system voltage. Measurements of harmonic currents were carried out in low-voltage (LV)-systems and under laboratory test conditions with adjustable harmonic content of the AC-voltage.

Harmonic pricing model based on harmonic costs and harmonic current excessive penalty

2011 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Management Science and Electronic Commerce (AIMSEC), 2011
Harmonic will do great harm to power grid and cause economic losses. In order to reduce such losses, the power utilities need additional investment for harmonic suppression measures. The harmonic losses and the additional investment capital together constitute the harmonic costs and they are the basis of harmonic pricing.

Harmonic-current-restrained relays for differential protection

Electrical Engineering, 1938
DIFFERENTIAL relaying is the commonly accepted means of protecting large power transformers, a-c generators, and station bus systems against internal faults.1 The methods and circuits employed in various instances, while differing in detail, are all fundamentally the same in basic principle.

The Effects of dc Current Polarization on Cochlear Harmonics

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1972
The effects of dc polarization of the cochlear partition were observed on harmonic distortion components in microphonics. The qualitative effects of negative polarization (scala vestibuli negative) were quite consistent and similar to those observed in the polarization of intermodulation distortion components.

The calculation of harmonics in rectified currents

Journal of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1930
The classical mathematical method of calculating the wave-form of rectified currents is applicable to rectifiers whose volt-ampere characteristic consists of two interesting straight lines. It is based on the observed fact that there is for each rectifier a conducting phase and an insulating phase.

Current International Harmonization Efforts

2009
Efforts towards international cooperation or harmonization can occur at varying levels – at the level of technical and scientific requirements, of dossier format and content, or of assessment and review practices. Three contrasting models for regional cooperation in drug regulation harmonization, the corporate, populist, and cooperative, are described ...

Valuation of harmonic current injections

2002
The number of power electronic and distorting loads, continue to grow at a rapid pace. Accompanying this growth in distortion sources is an increased sensitivity of certain types of loads to harmonic distortion, and poor power quality in general. The result is greater variance in the value loads place on a harmonic free supply, and therefore what they ...
