Asymmetric frequency conversion in nonlinear systems driven by a biharmonic pump [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A novel mechanism of asymmetric frequency conversion is investigated in nonlinear dispersive devices driven parametrically with a biharmonic pump. When the relative phase between the first and second harmonics combined in a two-tone pump is appropriately

Analysis of the sideband current harmonics and vibro‐acoustics in the PMSM with SVPWM

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2020
To control the high-frequency acoustic noise of the permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) with the space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM), an investigation into the mechanism of the sideband vibro-acoustics is presented in this study ...

Acoustic Measures Capture Speech Dysfunction in Spinocerebellar Ataxia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) are hereditary cerebellar degenerative disorders with a common feature of dysarthria, involving impaired phonatory and articulatory control of speech, thereby affecting social communication. In this study, we investigated whether acoustic measures could objectively measure speech dysfunction and identify

Harmonic currents of finite energy and laminations [PDF]

open access: yesGAFA Geometric And Functional Analysis, 2005
We introduce, on a complex Kahler manifold (M, ), a notion of energy for harmonic currents of bidegree (1,1). This allows us to define $\int T \wedge T \wedge ^{k-2},$ for positive harmonic currents. We then show that for a lamination with singularities of a compact set in P^2 there is a unique positive harmonic current which minimizes energy.

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Random Asymmetric Carrier PWM Method for PMSM Vibration Reduction

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The underwater noise can be caused by the radial electromagnetic vibration of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) for electric propulsion. The difficulty in decreasing the underwater noise is not only the high-frequency but also low-frequency ...

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

Current Harmonic Suppression of BLDC Motor Utilizing Frequency Adaptive Repetitive Controller

open access: yesMachines, 2022
Compared to the proportional-integral strategy, the repetitive control strategy possesses high suppression ability for the alternating current (AC) harmonics of control signals.

Microwave photoresistance in a two-dimensional electron gas with separated Landau levels

open access: yes, 2011
Theories of microwave-induced resistance oscillations in high-mobility two-dimensional electron gas predict that with decreasing oscillation order $n$ or with increasing frequency $\omega$ the photoresistance maxima should appear closer to the cyclotron ...
