Electronic error reduction system for clamp-on probes and measuring current transformers

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2000
An original electronic device for compensating ratio and phase-displacement errors, of measuring current transformers and clamp-on probes, is proposed. It is intended for low-frequency applications (power frequency and its harmonic components), where the magnetizing current is the main cause of measuring errors. This system reduces the magnetic flux in

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Review of Accuracy Assessment Methods for Current Transformers: Errors, Uncertainties, and Dynamic Performance

open access: yesEnergies
Accurate electric current measurement is fundamental to the safe and efficient operation of modern power systems. Current transformers (CTs), which serve as a critical interface between high-voltage power networks and measuring or protection devices, are

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Research on Residual-Current Measurement System of Substation Considering Magnetic Shielding Effect

open access: yesSensors
Residual current is an important monitoring quantity of a power system, and a current sensor plays an important role in detecting current. The substation environment is complex.

EXPERIMENTAL DETERMINATION OF RELATIVE DISTRIBUTING OF VORTICAL CURRENTS IN METALLIC SHEET [PDF]

open access: yesAvtomobilʹnyj Transport (Harʹkov), 2009
The method of experimental determination of the relative distributing of vortical currents in sheet which consists in the direct measuring of tension falling between two electrodes soldered in it, at the flow line of vortical currents, with subsequent ...

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Measurement error in medical research: a systematic review of current practice

open access: yes, 2018
In medical research, covariates (e.g. exposure and confounder variables) are often measured with error. While it is well accepted that this introduces bias and imprecision in exposure-outcome relations, it is unclear to what extent such issues are currently considered in research practice. The objective was to study common practices regarding covariate
