Current‐mode filters based on current mirror arrays

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2007
AbstractA technique is proposed for obtaining current‐mode filters based on current mirror arrays that operate as unity gain current amplifiers. These amplifiers by properly driving capacitors realize active lossless integrators which are the basic active elements for the derivation of filters according to the leapfrog method. Due to the fact that both

Conversion of voltage-mode biquads to current-mode

38th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Proceedings, 2002
A new procedure for obtaining cascadable, opamp based current-mode biquads from voltage-mode biquads without the use of voltage-mode to current-mode transformations is presented. Two new multi opamp biquads circuits are derived and used to construct lowpass, highpass, bandpass, notch, and allpass filters. A single opamp bandpass circuit is also derived.

Current-mode A/D fuzzy converter

IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 2002
This paper presents a general architecture for an analog-to-digital (A/D) fuzzy converter which performs the A/D conversion and the fuzzification operation on the same functional block, through a programmable membership function. The solution uses as main blocks an A/D converter, a comparator, and some logic inverters and switches.

The current-mode muddle

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2018
Abstract With the arrival of monolithic processes for the fabrication of bipolar transistors during the mid-1960s, it seemed like a good time to examine new paradigms for design. Current-mode (CM) was attractive because it suggested that small voltages swings could be used to process analog signals represented as currents; whatever voltages that did ...

Current-mode amplifiers

IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003
Traditional voltage-feedback amplifier configurations, both discrete and integrated, have always suffered from the severe disadvantage of drastically restricted bandwidth at high gains due to the problem of constant gain-bandwidth product. The author shows how adopting a current-mode approach to a range of amplifier designs based on current conveyors ...

Current-Mode Filters

2014
Voltage-mode filters and especially their linearity and dynamic range suffer from the low supply voltages of deep-sub-micron and nanometer CMOS. This fact served as motivation to investigate current-mode filters with the hope for a better linearity and larger dynamic range. Current-mode filters also may allow saving of current-to-voltage and voltage-to-

An improved current mode instrumentation amplifier

Proceedings of Third International Conference on Electronics, Circuits, and Systems, 2002
A current mode instrumentation amplifier in CMOS technology, is presented. The circuit is based on the use of two second generation positive current conveyors and a current differential output stage. The device exhibits high common-mode rejection ratio which is gain unaffected in a wide frequency band.

Current mode ternary D/A converter

Proceedings Eleventh International Conference on VLSI Design, 2002
In this paper current mirror sources have been employed to design a ternary D/A converter. A much better performance and area saving over the 3R-4R resistive network has been achieved.

Osteoporosis: Current Modes of Prevention and Treatment

Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 1999
The most common metabolic bone disorder is osteoporosis, which affects 25 million Americans, of whom 80% are women. Bone loss in women occurs most commonly after menopause, when the rate of loss may be as high as 2% per year. Bone mass can be determined with dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry.

Current-mode threshold logic gates

Proceedings 2000 International Conference on Computer Design, 2002
In this paper, we present low-power and high-performance logic gates called the current-mode threshold logic (CMTL) gates. Low-power dissipation is achieved by limiting the voltage swing on the interconnects and the internal nodes of the CMTL gates. High-performance is achieved by the use of transistor configurations that sense a small difference in ...
