Applying Differential-Mode Transformer to Current Sharing With Current Ripple Considered

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2011
A simple current-sharing control technique for the switching power supply is presented herein, which is based on the concept of the differential-mode transformer and which makes the load current evenly shared well among phases all over the line voltage and load current ranges.

Low ripple current source based on resonant controllers

IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013
This paper describes a control algorithm of a single-phase voltage-source converter with an LCL output filter behaving like a high-quality controlled current source. Designed control algorithm combines model based (feed-forward) control with a feedback direct current control based on resonant controllers. This control method provides precise (low THDi)

The Influence of Current Ripples on the Lifetime of Lithium-Ion Batteries

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2018
In electric vehicles (EVs) and other applications, lithium-ion batteries experience variable load profiles with frequencies up to several kilohertz, as caused by power electronics. It is crucial to know if certain frequencies accelerate battery degradation and should be avoided.

Current ripple effect on superconductive d.c. critical current measurements

Cryogenics, 1988
Abstract The effect of current ripple or noise on d.c. critical current measurements was systematically studied. Measurements were made on multifilamentary NbTi superconductor. A low-noise, battery-powered current supply was required in this study in order to make the pure d.c. critical current measurements.

Measuring battery plant ripple currents

Conference Record of 1992 Forty-Fourth Annual Conference of Electrical Engineering Problems in the Rubber and Plastics Industries, 2003
Utility users of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) have become concerned with the premature wear-out of the battery systems. In looking for a cause for accelerated battery wear-out, a study of the electrical environment was made in order to identify the differences between the relatively new UPS applications and the older telecommunications ...

Novel interleaved ZVS converter with ripple current cancellation

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2008
AbstractThis paper presents a zero voltage switching (ZVS) converter with interleaved pulse‐width modulation scheme. An active clamp circuit is adopted in the proposed converter to recycle the energy stored in the leakage inductor of the transformer and reduce the voltage stress of the main power switch in the converter. The ZVS feature of switches can

Input Ripple Current Characteristics of Aviation Static Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2013
As a typical load of an aircraft power system, the aviation static inverter (ASI) brings about undesirable low-frequency ripple current on the aeronautic dc bus, which seriously deteriorates the power quality of aeronautic grid. Based on the double-Fourier switching function method, the input current of the inverter unit is analyzed.

Voltage and Current Ripple in Rectifier Systems

IEEE Transactions on Applications and Industry, 1963
In a rectifier system with inductive load circuit the current fluctuations correspond to the time integral of the voltage absorbed by the inductance, while in a circuit with an L-C filter the current ripple is defined by the harmonic composition of the output voltage.

Sinusoidal ripple current charging system with PLL function

2014 IEEE 23rd International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2014
This paper proposed a sinusoidal ripple current charging system with PLL (Phase-Locked-Loop) function, which is used to charge the battery with battery resonant charging frequency. The proposed system uses a resonant frequency tracker, which is mainly constructed by the phase-locked-loop, so that the features of detecting, tracking and locking in the ...

The measurement of ripple current in battery plants

10th International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2003
A draft of a standard for the selection of batteries for UPS (uninterruptible power supply) applications is being written to address the application problems including the reduced-life phenomenon. In looking for a cause for accelerated battery wear-out, the author studied the electrical environment to identify the differences between the relatively ...
