An Optical Fiber Sensor and Its Application in UAVs for Current Measurements

open access: yesSensors, 2016
In this paper, we propose and experimentally investigate an optical sensor based on a novel combination of a long-period fiber grating (LPFG) with a permanent magnet to measure electrical current in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

High Accuracy Open-Type Current Sensor with a Differential Planar Hall Resistive Sensor

open access: yesSensors, 2018
In this paper, we propose a high accuracy open-type current sensor with a differential Planar Hall Resistive (PHR) sensor. Conventional open-type current sensors with magnetic sensors are usually vulnerable to interference from an external magnetic field.

A Spectrally Interrogated Polarimetric Optical Fiber Sensor for Current Measurement with Temperature Correction

open access: yesSensors, 2023
We report on a study of the temperature dependence of the response of a BSO crystal based polarimetric current sensor with spectral interrogation. Two possible interrogation schemes are discussed. The spectral dependence of the optical rotation along the

Dynamically biased current sensor for current-sensing completion detection

open access: yesISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2001
This paper presents a dynamically biased current sensor for the Current-Sensing Completion Detection (CSCD) method, which cuts off the power consumption, when the logic blocks do not operate. The proposed method is an essential improvement to all completion detection methods that use static biasing in their current sensing circuits, and where the power

Rad Tolerant CMOS Image Sensor Based on Hole Collection 4T Pixel Pinned Photodiode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
1.4μm pixel pitch CMOS Image sensors based on hole collection pinned photodiode (HPD) have been irradiated with 60Co source. The HPD sensors exhibit much lower dark current degradation than equivalent commercial sensors using an Electron collection ...

A High-Sensitivity Current Sensor Utilizing CrNi Wire and Microfiber Coils

open access: yesSensors, 2014
We obtain an extremely high current sensitivity by wrapping a section of microfiber on a thin-diameter chromium-nickel wire. Our detected current sensitivity is as high as 220.65 nm/A2 for a structure length of only 35 μm.
