Design of Solar Energy Harvesting Reactor From 2D to 3D Structures for Solar Thermal Conversion

open access: yesCarbon Innovation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solar energy utilisation is pivotal for advancing sustainable and renewable energy solutions, yet the rational design of high‐efficiency photothermal conversion devices remains a critical challenge. This paper systematically examines the evolution of photothermal reactor architectures from two‐dimensional (2D) to 3D structures, emphasising ...

Methanol With Increased Water Content in Internal Combustion Engines

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This study investigates the potential to improve overall Well‐to‐Wheel efficiency by using low‐purity methanol from synthesis of hydrogen and furnace gas as CO2‐source. Combustion efficiency is comparable to pure methanol, while distillation energy could be saved.

Explainable hybrid stacking ensemble method for hard rock pillar stability prediction and engineering applications

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This research proposes an interpretable hybrid stacking ensemble framework, optimized by the Sparrow Search Algorithm, to enhance hard rock pillar stability prediction. By integrating six machine learning models—k‐nearest neighbors, support vector machines, random forests, Gradient Boosting Decision Tree, eXtreme Gradient Boosting, and Light Gradient ...

Physical Interpretation of the Reactive Power in Terms of CPC Power Theory Revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Recently the authors have developed a time-domain representation of the Currents’ Physical Components (CPC) power theory. Consequently, piece-wise continuous currents and voltages, such as square waves and sawtooth signals, can naturally be taken into ...

Compensation objectives and Currents\u27 Physical Components-based generation of reference signals for shunt switching compensator control

open access: yes, 2009
Compensation objectives in three-phase asymmetrical systems with non-sinusoidal voltages and currents, from the perspective of the loading and/or supply quality improvement, are discussed and classified. Fundamentals of generation of the reference signal

Solvation Engineering with 2D Laponite Nanosheets for Stable Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
In this work, ZBL was introduced as an electrolyte additive to the ZnSO4 electrolyte to achieve more uniform Zn plating/stripping and reduce side reactions, thereby improving the reversibility of Zn anodes. This leads to enhanced cycling stability in both symmetric and full cells.

Low‐intensity focused ultrasound neuromodulation for drug‐resistant epilepsy: A randomized, sham‐controlled crossover trial

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study was undertaken to evaluate the safety, feasibility, and efficacy of low‐intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) as a noninvasive neuromodulation technique in patients with drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE). Methods In this pilot, single‐blind, randomized sham‐controlled crossover trial, 12 patients with DRE underwent both LIFU and
