Curve reconstruction from noisy samples

open access: yesProceedings of the nineteenth annual symposium on Computational geometry, 2003
The paper presents a new algorithm to reconstruct a collection of disjoint smooth closed curves from noisy samples. A probabilistic model of noisy samples is proposed. Moreover it is proved that the reconstruction is faithful with probability close to 1 as the number of samples increases.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Density Logging Curve Reconstruction Method Based on KNN-Transformer Algorithm

open access: yesCejing jishu
Density logging is a key technique for calculating reservoir physical parameters, identifying lithology, and evaluating oil and gas reserves. Due to factors such as borehole conditions and poor tool contact, density curves often suffer from local data ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Human perception faithful curve reconstruction based on persistent homology and principal curve

open access: yesGraphical Models
Reconstructing curves that align with human visual perception from a noisy point cloud presents a significant challenge in the field of curve reconstruction. A specific problem involves reconstructing curves from a noisy point cloud sampled from multiple

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Vision-based curve reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A typical curve reconstruction problem is to generate a continuous linear representation of a curve from a set of unorganized sampling points on the curve. These unorganized points should be joined by edges in the order in which they appear on the curve.

Research on the deep learning-based exposure invariant spectral reconstruction method

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2022
The surface spectral reflectance of an object is the key factor for high-fidelity color reproduction and material analysis, and spectral acquisition is the basis of its applications.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...
