LINEAR CURVED ROD MODEL: GENERAL CURVE
Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 2001A one-dimensional model of a curved rod is derived from the three-dimensional linearized elasticity. No positivity assumption on the curvature of the central line of the curved rod is made. The model is obtained by taking the limit in the equilibrium equation of the three-dimensional elastic rod when the thickness of the rod goes to zero.

DERIVATION AND JUSTIFICATION OF A CURVED ROD MODEL
Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 1999A one-dimensional model of a curved rod is derived from the three-dimensional linearized elasticity. The model is obtained by taking the limit in the equilibrium equation of the three-dimensional elastic rod when the thickness of the rod goes to zero. The appropriate convergence result is proved.

2002
Recent results on mathematical modelling of curved rods are presented. More precisely, elastic behavior of a curved rod-like 3-D body is approximated by elastic behavior of its middle curve. The method of approximation is asymptotic expansion with respect to the small parameter diameter of the cross section of the rod).

Numerical model of the nonlinear behavior of curved rods
Computers & Structures, 1986Summary: A theoretical model for the nonlinear behavior of curved rods is derived. The model is very general and it allows any combination of geometry, structural properties distribution, load distribution, and boundary conditions. A set of nonlinear equilibrium equations and boundary conditions is obtained.

One-dimensional quasistatic model of biodegradable elastic curved rods
Zeitschrift für angewandte Mathematik und Physik, 2015In this paper, we derive and analyze a one- dimensional model of biodegradable elastic curved rods. The model is given for displacement and degradation as unknown functions and is nonlinear. It is obtained from the three- dimensional equations of the biodegradable elastic rod-like bodies using formal asymptotic expansion techniques with respect to the ...

Development of Fault Diagnosis Model for Sucker Rod Pump Using Motor Power Curve
2021 XVIII International Scientific Technical Conference Alternating Current Electric Drives (ACED), 2021A real time diagnostic system development for detecting sucker rod pump working conditions is current demand for most oil producers because of significant expenses related to costs of labor and consequent damages when a fault is not identified timely.

Simple and Effective Equilibrium Models for Vibration Analysis of Curved Rods
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1996New finite-element models for curved beam vibration analysis are derived from classical comple mentary variational principles of elastodynamics. The use of a spline approximation of the axis line (as previously introduced by the writers in the static case) allows for the a priori satisfaction of the dynamic differential equilibrium equations in a ...

Nonlinear bending-torsion model for curved rods with little regularity
Mathematics and Mechanics of Solids, 2015In this paper we extend the formulation of the equilibrium problem for the nonlinear bending-torsion theory for curved rods on rods with rectifiable middle curve. We also prove the existence of solutions for the associated boundary value problem when the middle curve is piecewisely smooth.
