In this composition an attempt is made to answer one simple question only: What is the cubic B-spline for the knots -2,-1,0,1,2? The note will take you on a most interesting trip through various fields of Mathematics and finally convince you on how ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Some Families of Elliptic Curves
Elliptic curves, intricate mathematical structures, form a nexus between number theory, alge- braic geometry, and cryptography. This paper offers a thorough exploration of these curves, delving into their foundational properties, historical origins, and ...

Elliptic curves and the congruent number problem [PDF]
openIn this thesis we will introduce some basic notions on the arithmetic theory of elliptic curves and show how this theory is connected to the congruent number problem, a classical problem in arithmetic.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Modeling Shapes for Pattern Recognition: A Simple Low-Cost Spline-based Approach
We present a simple procedure for modeling shapes and trajectories of points using cubic polynomial splines. The procedure may prove useful for researchers working in the field of pattern recognition that are in the search of a simple functional ...

Comparing shapes of engel curves [PDF]
We measure how different the shapes of Engel curves are across 59 commodity groups. The same analysis is carried out for their derivatives and variances.
