Optimization of CEST MRI Reporter Protein Design Using Cation‐Pi Networks
A novel engineering approach can produce reporter proteins for cell and viral therapy tracking with unique magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signatures, detectable with chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST). We discover how cation‐π interactions between amino acid groups can help us fine‐tune magnetic resonance properties for noninvasive ...

SDSS J141624.08+134826.7: Blue L Dwarfs and Non-Equilibrium Chemistry
We present an analysis of the recently discovered blue L dwarf SDSS J141624.08+134826.7. We extend the spectral coverage of its published spectrum to ~4 microns by obtaining a low-resolution L band spectrum with SpeX on the NASA IRTF.

Three New Cool Brown Dwarfs Discovered with the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) and an Improved Spectrum of the Y0 Dwarf WISE J041022.71+150248.4 [PDF]
As part of a larger search of Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) data for cool brown dwarfs with effective temperatures less than 1000 K, we present the discovery of three new cool brown dwarfs with spectral types later than T7.

A low‐toxicity bioactive composition of oxidovanadium(IV) and exopolysaccharide levan is synthesized, characterized, and shown to reduce hyperglycemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and TyG index in a mice model of dexamethasone‐induced insulin resistance. Bioactive compositions containing vanadium complexes have been a viable strategy for constructing more ...

Infantile Iatrogenic Cushing Syndrome due to Topical Steroids
Cushing syndrome is an endocrinological disorder characterized by increased free plasma glucocorticoids level. It is either due to an excessive endogenous release of steroids (e.g., pituitary adenoma or adrenal hyperplasia) or exogenous administration of

Empowering teachers and fostering pupil climate action in Welsh primary schools
Abstract The Curriculum for Wales intends to help students understand and address climate change, but relies on teachers' knowledge and implementation thereof. This article focuses on “The Lifecycle of My Clothes”, a unit of work (UoW) developed by academics and practitioners. The UoW aimed to increase students' awareness of the environmental impact of

FIRE Spectroscopy of Five Late-type T Dwarfs Discovered with the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer [PDF]
We present the discovery of five late-type T dwarfs identified with the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE). Low-resolution near-infrared spectroscopy obtained with the Magellan Folded-port InfraRed Echellette (FIRE) reveal strong water and ...
