the pulsating cusp [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 1990
Recent observations at the magnetopause and of the high‐latitude ionosphere, suggest that the cusp may be pulsed in nature. Specifically ground‐based observations in the dayside auroral oval reveal transient optical features accompanied by bursts of enhanced plasma flow.

Hidden Cusps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper investigates a situation pointed out in a recent paper, in which a non-singular change of assembly mode of a planar 2-RPR-PR parallel manipulator was realized by encircling a point of multiplicity 4. It is shown that this situation is, in fact, a non-generic one and gives rise to cusps under a small perturbation.

Talon cusp affecting primary dentition in two siblings: a case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The term talon cusp refers to a rare developmental dental anomaly characterized by a cusp-like structure projecting from the cingulum area or cement-enamel junction.

Morphological Study of Chordae Tendinae in Human Cadaveric Hearts

open access: yesHeart Views, 2015
Objectives: The chordae tendinae (CT) are strong, fibrous connections between the valve leaflets and the papillary muscles. Dysfunction of the papillary muscles and chordae is frequent.

Gasparyan Method of Total Autologous Reconstruction of the Aortic Valve [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, 2020
In this case report, I describe a new technique for total reconstruction of the aortic valve with autologous pericardium. The parameters of the cusps were calculated using very simple formulas after measurement of the aortic root intercommissural ...

On the Cusp [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, 2016
A new president is stepping into leadership at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). Opportunities abound. The fact that both diabetes and heart disease are reversible is a message that is not reaching the majority of the general public.

Double cusp encounter by Cluster: double cusp or motion of the cusp? [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2013
Abstract. Modelling plasma entry in the polar cusp has been successful in reproducing ion dispersions observed in the cusp at low and mid-altitudes. The use of a realistic convection pattern, when the IMF-By is large and stable, allowed Wing et al. (2001) to predict double cusp signatures that were subsequently observed by the DMSP spacecraft.

Short‐term observations of double‐peaked Na emission from Mercury's exosphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2017
We report the analysis of short‐term ground‐based observations of the exospheric Na emission (D1 and D2 lines) from Mercury, which was characterized by two high‐latitude peaks confined near the magnetospheric cusp footprints. During a series of scheduled

Morphodynamics Assessment by Means of Mesoforms and Video-Monitoring in a Dissipative Beach

open access: yesGeosciences, 2018
In this study a video-monitoring system was used to analyze the presence of mesoforms during a time period of five years in the urban beach of La Victoria, Cádiz, Spain.

Geodesic excursions into cusps in finite-volume hyperbolic manifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
18 pages, no figures.-- MSC1991 codes: Primary: 53C22; Secondary: 30F40, 58F17.MR#: MR1214056 (94d:53067)Zbl#: Zbl 0793.53052The main goal of the paper is to prove that, for a given non-compact hyperbolic $n$-manifold $M$ of finite volume, $p\in M$, and ...
