Dynamic analysis of runout correction in milling [PDF]
Tool runout and its effects is an important area of research within modelling, simulation, and control of milling forces. Tool runout causes tool cutting edges to experience uneven forces during milling.

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Analytical modeling of chatter stability in turning and boring operations - Part II: Experimental verification [PDF]
In this part of the paper series, chatter experiments are conducted in order to verify the proposed stability models presented in the first part (Ozlu, E., and Budak, E., 2007, ASME J. Manuf. Sci. Eng., 129(4), pp. 726–732).

Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

A Method to Determine the Minimum Chip Thickness during Longitudinal Turning
Micromachining, which is used for various industrial purposes, requires the depth of cut and feed to be expressed in micrometers. Appropriate stock allowance and cutting conditions need to be selected to ensure that excess material is removed in the form

An analytical method in modeling of milling process damping considering cutting edge radius
Abstract Process damping generated between the clearance face of the tool and wavy finish workpiece surface has a strong effect on cutting dynamics and stability. However, it has been mostly ignored in chatter analysis as there is hardly practical model for estimation of it, particularly for honed tool which equips arc cutting edge and performs ...

Factors Affecting Plunge Grinding Force [PDF]
Grinding force has a close relation to grinding inputs such as grinding wheel, work material, interference condition, grinding speed, grinding fluid and machine condition, and therefore varies widely with grinding inputs.

Reliability of Cutting Edge Radius Estimator Based on Chip Production Rate for Micro End Milling
In this paper, the reliability of a new online cutting edge radius estimator for micro end milling is evaluated. This estimator predicts the cutting edge radius by detecting the drop in the chip production rate as the cutting edge of a micro end mill ...
