This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Identifying parameters of a broaching design using non-linear optimisation [PDF]
Broaching is one of the most recognised machining processes that can yield high productivity and high quality when applied properly. One big disadvantage of broaching is that all process parameters, except cutting speed, are built into the broaching ...

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Modelling and analyses of helical milling process [PDF]
A comparison between the geometry of the helical milling specialized tool and conventional end mill was firstly introduced. Furthermore, a mathematical model, in which the cutting area was divided into different cutting zones, was established to simulate

Generalized Cuts of Feynman Integrals in Parameter Space
We propose a construction of generalized cuts of Feynman integrals as an operation on the domain of the Feynman parametric integral. A set of on-shell conditions removes the corresponding boundary components of the integration domain, in favor of including a boundary component from the second Symanzik polynomial.

Relation between Cutting Surface Quality and Alloying Element Contents when Using a CO2 Laser
This paper deals with the influence of material content on changes in the quality parameters of the cutting surface when cutting with a laser. The study focuses on experiments to find the effect of material structure and cutting parameters on surface ...

Presented in this study is a validated semiempirical model of the effects of femtosecond laser pulse energy on the effective z-position of the resulting cut after laser-induced optical breakdown. Different energy levels (for the same spot spacings, i.e.,

Multiobjective Optimization of Tool Geometric Parameters Using Genetic Algorithm
Tool geometric parameters have a huge impact on tool wear. Up to now, there are only a few researches on tool geometric parameters and optimization, and the single objective function of parameter optimization used by researchers during high-speed ...

Experimental investigation on micromilling of oxygen-free, high-conductivity copper using tungsten carbide, chemistry vapour deposition and single-crystal diamond micro tools [PDF]
Insufficient experimental data from various micro tools limit industrial application of the micromilling process. This paper presents an experimental comparative investigation into micromilling of oxygen-free, high-conductivity copper using tungsten ...
