EFFECT OF DIMPLE GEOMETRIC PARAMETERS OBTAINED ON METAL SURFACE BY ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE ON ITS CUTTING ABILITY

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2016
The paper contains an analysis of dimple geometric parameters obtained on wire surface during its in its electrical discharge machining. A photography and description of one of the dimples has been given in the paper.

Reasoning of the optimal parametrs of the natural stone monolith separating with diamond wire saws in order to decrease the losses

open access: yesТехнічна інженерія, 2021
The wholeness of the stone monolith is saved when separating of it occur with the diamond wire machines. However, there are some problems and questions – what are the optimal dimensions of the monolith and the angles of drilling for contouring with ...

Cutting plane methods for general integer programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Integer programming (IP) problems are difficult to solve due to the integer restrictions imposed on them. A technique for solving these problems is the cutting plane method.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

NUMERICAL METHODS TO ESTIMATE PARAMETERS IN QUANTILE REGRESSION MÉTODOS NUMÉRICOS PARA LA ESTIMACIÓN DE PARÁMETROS EN REGRESIÓN CUANTÍLICA

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Estadística, 2005
Quantile regression is a nondifferentiable convex optimization problem. We compare three classical numerical methods, two of them based on linear optimization, and the cutting plane method.

Real-Time Three-Dimensional Echocardiography in the Evaluation of Left Atrial Structure and Function in Normal, Aging, Hypertensive and Heart Failure Patients: New Insights into Left Atrial Adaptation and Remodeling

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gerontology, 2009
Background: Precise left atrial (LA) volume quantification, representative of LA function, is of extraordinary clinical prognostic value. However, a detailed description of pathophysiology in different disease populations and interactions with aging by ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Number of Plane Corner Cuts

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Mathematics, 1999
An \(n\)-element subset \(\lambda\) of \(\mathbb{N}^2\) which is cut off a line is called a (plane) corner cut of size \(n\). Let be \({\mathbb{N}^2\choose n}_{ \text{cut}}\) the set of corner cuts of size \(n\). [See \textit{S. Onn} and \textit{B. Sturmfels}, ibid., 29-48 (1999; above).] The authors give a generating for the number \(\#{\mathbb{N}^2 ...
