No president, and no country, can stop global warming singlehandedly. President Obama isn’t going to halt the rise of the oceans in his second term. And with Congress hostile to cap and trade and most other ideas for slowing, let alone rolling back, global warming, it will be difficult for him to do what’s necessary.

Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging for the Evaluation of the Sacroiliac Joint in Pediatric Patients
Objective Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.

A study of the effect of the frequency of spring cutting on the regrowth and resulting yield of lucerne (Medicago sativa L.) : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science at Massey University [PDF]
There is abundant evidence to show that the yield, stand, chemical composition and the feeding value of lucerne may be materially affected by varying the cutting interval. Therefore, the purpose of the field experiment reported here was to determine the

Objective The purpose was to evaluate a biomarker score consisting of MUC5B rs35705950 promoter variant, plasma matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)‐7, and serum anti‐malondialdehyde‐acetaldehyde (anti‐MAA) antibody for RA‐associated interstitial lung disease risk stratification. Methods Using a multicenter cohort of US veterans with RA, we performed a cross‐

The MaxCut problem aims to find a bipartition of vertices in a given graph such that the number of edges with one end vertex in each part is maximum among all bipartitions. NP-hardness when restricted to interval graphs has been recently announced. Surprisingly, all previously published attempts at polynomial-time algorithms for unit interval graphs ...

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

The effect of temperature controllers that are commonly used in freeze‐casting is investigated in this work. Temperature controllers are observed to generate a voltage in the slurry. Microstructural alignment and ultimate compressive strength data show this voltage to interfere with the ability to align the microstructure using magnetic fields ...
