Cutting-system dynamics

Russian Engineering Research, 2016
The attractive sets formed in the vicinity of equilibrium (asymptotically stable orbital limiting cycles, two-dimensional invariant tori, and chaotic attractors) are analyzed. The bifurcations of the system in parameter space and the space of control parameters are considered.

Record-cutting system

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1979
A cutting transducer is mounted on a radius arm positioned in the same relationship with a turntable as is conventional for the tone arm of a record player. Cross-feed is established by a screw having an axis substantially radial with respect to the axis of the turntable. A nut engaging the screw is mounted on a carrier slidably engaging the radius arm.

The Influence of the Laser Cutting System Performance on Cutting Quality

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Laser cutting is widely applied in the modern industry. With the development of production, there is a higher demand for the improvement of cutting quality. Hence, investigating the influence of laser cutting parameters on the sheet quality is of important significance in the quality control of the sheet processing.

Why A Laser Cutting System: A Comparison With More Conventional Cutting Systems

SPIE Proceedings, 1985
Marketing a laser cutting system usually requires a comparison with plasma-arc cutting, Wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), and oxygen-acetylene flame cutting. Each system has its own advantages and disadvantages, however because of its versatility and adaptability, laser is becoming the more sought-after system.

Security System for Die Cutting Press

2008 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2008
The present paper reports the approaches to design a punch press security system and the results of the first phase of design. The process of design of the system is based on the philosophy mechatronics design, with the aim of providing a safe product, reliable, high-quality and effective to increase the competitiveness of the company.

Backward reasoning in systems with cut

1996
In backward reasoning, a proof of a theorem is constructed by trying to obtain a set of axioms from the theorem by backward application of inference rules. Backward reasoning can be automatized if, for each instance of a rule, the premises are uniquely determined by the conclusion. The cut rule does not have this property.

An Optical System For Surveillance Of Cutting Tools

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
An optical system for in-process sensing of tool wear is presented and discussed with application in a milling process. A strategy for automatic tool replacement is proposed on the basis of wear measurement feedback.

A compact hot-wire cutting system

The British Journal of Radiology, 1982
Irregularly-shaped shielding blocks are required in several kinds of radiotherapy treatments, and a low-melting point alloy is often used as blocking material. Expanded polystyrene is then the appropriate moulding material, as it can be cut by means of a simple hot wire, using the patient's radiograph as the cutting template.
