Transactions of the ASAE, 1983ABSTRACT SIGNIFICANTLY higher plant stem acceleration values were produced by the flexible blade cutters than by the floating cutterbar configuration. Harvest losses for the flexible blade cutters, when operated at 65 m/s were higher at all relative travel velocities than those obtained with the standard floating cutterbar configuration.

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2010Fuzzy sets with values in a complete lattice \(L\) can be defined either by means of membership functions, or, equivalently, by means of nested systems of \(\alpha\)-cuts. This paper is focused on finding some analogies between the second approach and some nested systems of subsets defined in sets with similarity relations.

The development of rock cutting tool with a new cutting system
2001The short life of tools employed on conventional rock cutting machines is the principal limitation on a more widespread use of these excavation machines in strong and/or abrasive rocks. This paper describes a novel rock cutting system in which the forces exerted by the rock cutting tools are much reduced.
