The experimental study and numerical simulation of falling liquid film flow on horizontal tubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This research is motivated by two observations: No report has been found so far in studies of water falling film up to 100 mm intertube spacing. No simulation analysis of film thickness under influence of intertube spacing in 3 dimensional models ...

Slip behavior in pulley groove up to sliding slip at steady state and power transmitting efficiency on metal V-belt type cvt

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2017
This paper investigated the influence of pulley tilting on slip ratio (s) of the commercially available continuously variable transmissions (CVTs). Two types of pulleys (tiltable pulley and untiltable pulley) were prepared to investigate the influence of

Heat transport regimes in structured reactors: CFD analysis and influence of reactor diameter and length

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Temperature control in catalytic reactors is critical to ensure high yields and a stable process for highly exothermic reactions. To better understand the processes within structured reactors, it has already been shown that heat source based ...

Risk factors and clinical manifestations of cerebral venous thrombosis in patients admitted to Zahedan city hospitals during 2011-2017

open access: yesAsian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2018
Background: In Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), blood clots are create in the veins and, blood clots may form in the veins or sinuses. In 78% of cases this problem occurred in people lower than 50 years and in women more than men.

The Effectiveness of Using Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) in 2WD Buggy Vehicles

open access: yesInvotek: Jurnal Inovasi Vokasional dan Teknologi, 2023
Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) is a transmission system that does not have gears like in manual transmission cars or conventional automatic transmission cars. CVT has the advantage of being able to maintain the proper rotational speed at any time

Emergent Spin Fluctuation and Structural Metastability in Self‐Intercalated Cr1+xTe2${\rm Cr}_{1+x}{\rm Te}_2$ Compounds

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Metastable superstructure and emergent spin fluctuation in self‐intercalated Cr1+xTe2${\rm Cr}_{1+x}{\rm Te}_2$ ABSTRACT Intercalated van der Waals (vdW) magnetic materials host unique magnetic properties due to the interplay of competing interlayer and intralayer exchange couplings, which depend on the intercalant concentration within the van der ...

Development of simulation approach for CVT tuning using dual level genetic algorithm

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2017
Presented work aims to develop Genetic Algorithm (GA) based simulation approach for tuning of Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This study uses force balance to model the behaviour of CVT in MATLAB and employs dual level GA to optimize the tuning

Electrically and Magnetically Tunable Charge–Density–Wave Transport in Quasi‐2D h‐BN/1T‐TaS2 Field Effect Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Perpendicular electric and magnetic fields are used to control charge‐density‐wave (CDW) domain dynamics in quasi‐two‐dimensional h‐BN/1T‐TaS2 field‐effect devices. Electrical gating produces a non‐monotonic modulation of the CDW depinning threshold — behavior distinct from quasi‐one‐dimensional CDW systems.

Progress on relationship between inflammation and severe cerebral venous thrombosis

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2022
Severe cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare type of stroke with poor prognosis and high mortality. The pathophysiological mechanism of severe CVT at present only focus on the onslaught of CVT as a venous return disorder and fails to elucidate the ...

A Review of Black Phosphorus‐Based Materials: From Preparation Strategies to Characterization Techniques

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The structure, properties, preparation methods, and characterization techniques of BP. As a typical 2D layered material, black phosphorus (BP) demonstrates exceptional promise in various fields, particularly in energy storage for alkali metal‐ion batteries. However, its distinctive structure and properties, together with the compositional complexity of
