WHITNEY APPROXIMATION FOR SMOOTH CW COMPLEX

open access: yesKyushu Journal of Mathematics, 2022
We show a Whitney Approximation Theorem for a continuous map from a manifold to a smooth CW complex. This enables us to show that a topological CW complex is homotopy equivalent to a smooth CW complex in a category of topological spaces. It is also shown that, for any open covering of a smooth CW complex, there exists a partition of unity subordinate ...

Category of Noncommutative CW-Complexes. II [PDF]

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mathematics, 2013
We introduce in this paper the notion of noncommutative Serre fibration (shortly, NCSF) and show that up to homotopy, every NCCW complex morphism is some noncommutative Serre fibration. We then deduce a six-term exact sequence for the periodic cyclic homology and for K-theory of an arbitrary noncommutative Serre fibration.

Hyperspaces of CW-complexes [PDF]

open access: yesFundamenta Mathematicae, 1993
Summary: It is shown that the hyperspace of a connected CW-complex is an absolute retract for stratifiable spaces, where the hyperspace is the space of non-empty compact (connected) sets with the Vietoris topology.

Two new methods applied to crown width additive models: a case study for three tree species in Northeastern China

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Science, 2023
Key message The non-linear seemingly unrelated regression mixed-effects model (NSURMEM) and generalized additive model (GAM) were applied for the first time in crown width (CW) additive models of larch (Larix gmelinii Rupr.), birch (Betula platyphylla ...

Equivariant CW-complexes and the orbit category

open access: yesCommentarii Mathematici Helvetici, 2013
We give a general framework for studying G -CW complexes via the orbit category. As an application we show that the symmetric group G=S_5 admits a finite

Clinical Outcomes of SEEG‐Guided Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation in Children With Focal Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy: A Multicenter Real‐World Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stereoelectroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (SEEG‐RFTC) has emerged as a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment for children with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy. Although evidence from real‐world studies remains limited, numerous pediatric cases have demonstrated promising outcomes. This retrospective

Modern Management of Asymptomatic Carotid Stenosis: A Meta‐Analysis of CREST‐2, SPACE‐2, and ECST‐2

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Recent randomized trials (CREST‐2, SPACE‐2, and ECST‐2) have compared carotid revascularization (carotid endarterectomy [CEA] or carotid artery stenting [CAS]) plus contemporary medical therapy (CMT) versus CMT alone in asymptomatic carotid stenosis.
