Rearrangements of acyl, thioacyl, and imidoyl (thio)cyanates to iso(thio)cyanates, acyl iso(thio)cyanates to (thio)acyl isocyanates, and imidoyl iso(thio)cyanates to (thio)acyl carbodiimides, RCX-YCN ⇌ RCX-NCY ⇌ RCY-NCX ⇌ RCY-XCN (X and Y = O, S, NR').

open access: bronzeJournal of Organic Chemistry, 2013
Two types of rearrangements have been investigated computationally at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) level. The activation barriers for rearrangement of acyl thiocyanates RCO-SCN to the corresponding isothiocyanates RCO-NCS are 30-31 kcal/mol in agreement with ...

Ultra‐stable calcium ion batteries with Prussian blue nanodisks

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
A particular engineered form of Prussian blue nanodisks is prepared by using a proper amount of iron(III) nitrate, applying an optimum temperature, and sodiating with NaI. Developed with an optimized formulation of PAA/PANI binders, Prussian blue cathodes can extend the life of calcium‐ion batteries, exhibiting an impressive capacity retention of 91 ...

Tricyanated Ferrocenes; Isolation, structure, electrochemistry and DFT calculations

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 649, Issue 1, January 2, 2023., 2023
Abstract 1,2,3‐ Tricyanoferrocene and 1,3‐dibromo‐2,4,5‐tricyanoferrocene have been synthesized via metallation and usage of dimethylmalononitrile (DMMN) as cyanating agent. They are the first compounds where three nitrile functions could be introduced into the ferrocene sceleton.

Antitumor activities of new iso(thio)cyanates and their nitrogen and sulphur heterocyclic phosphorus derivatives

open access: yesJournal of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2019
Reaction of nucleophilic active phosphacumulenes with iso(thio)cyanates were performed. Novel heterocyclic four-membered or six-membered compounds containing sulfur and nitrogen nucleus namely, thietane, azetidine and thiazinane were prepared.

Regioselective (thio)carbamoylation of 2,7-di-tert-butylpyrene at the 1-position with iso(thio)cyanates

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
It has been found that 2,7-di-tert-butylpyrene reacts with aliphatic iso(thio)cyanates in the presence of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid to exclusively afford the corresponding 1-substituted (thio)amides in high yields.

[3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangements of fluorinated allyl (Thio)cyanates - a tool for the synthesis of fluorinated (Thio)ureas.

open access: yesChimia (Basel), 2014
The first (thio)cyanate to iso(thio)cyanate rearrangements based on 2-fluoroallylic alcohols are presented. Long-chain 2-fluoroallylic alcohols were converted to corresponding N-unsubstituted carbamates by treatment with trichloroacetyl isocyanate ...

Urea route to homoleptic cyanates--characterization and luminescence properties of [M(OCN)2(urea)] and M(OCN)2 with M=Sr, Eu.

open access: yesChemistry, 2009
A novel approach for the synthesis of urea complexes and homoleptic cyanates of alkaline earth metals and europium is described. Direct reaction of urea with elemental Sr or Eu in closed ampoules at temperatures above 120 degrees C yields [M(OCN)2(urea)]

Coordinative Ring‐Opening Polymerization of Limonene Carbamate towards Phosgene‐ and Isocyanate‐Free Polyurethane

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
This study presents a phosgene‐ and isocyanate‐free route for the synthesis of polyurethanes using (R)‐limonene as a bio‐based starting material. The synthesis of the cyclic limonene‐based carbamate monomer LU is achieved in high yields using dimethyl carbonate as a sustainable, less hazardous phosgene surrogate and is verified by NMR, SC‐XRD, ESI‐MS ...
