Reinforcement Positioning in Custom‐Made Mouthguards for Maxillofacial Trauma Protection: A Combined In Vitro and In Silico Analyses

open access: yesDental Traumatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Aim This study evaluated the dentoalveolar responses of central incisors to anterior maxillary trauma in vitro and in silico using mouthguards (MGs) reinforced with polyamide mesh at three distinct positions. Material and Methods Forty 4‐mm thick MGs were categorized based on mesh location: Group MG1 + 3 (reinforcement 1 mm from the

Comorbidities in the mouse model of temporal lobe epilepsy induced by intrahippocampal kainate

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) is generally associated with cognitive and psychiatric comorbidities. Here we examined whether similar comorbidities are observed in mice injected with kainate in the dorsal hippocampus, a model known to recapitulate many features of human MTLE, and if these comorbidities are sex dependent ...

Long‐Term Mobility of a Harvested, Rocky‐Reef Gastropod

open access: yesFisheries Management and Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Stocks of Turbo militaris (Turbinidae) are under increasing harvesting pressure, but management is currently hampered by data deficiency. Management decisions for rocky‐reef gastropod fisheries should consider long‐term species mobility, yet this is often poorly understood. Therefore, mark‐recapture was used to evaluate annual displacement and

Radio telemetry reveals extensive dispersal capabilities of reintroduced Great Capricorn beetles (Cerambyx cerdo) in oak habitats at their northern range limit

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
Extensive dispersal: Great Capricorn beetles dispersed up to 822 m in fragmented oak habitats. Sex‐independent movement: Dispersal distances were not significantly influenced by sex, body size or mating status. Conservation implications: Findings underscore the importance of large, connected habitats for beetle reintroductions.
