Synthesis of some novel α-cyanoketene-n, s-acetals derived from secondary aliphatic amines and their use in pyrazole synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
New α-cyanoketene-N,S-acetals 2(a–g) and β-dialkylamine-α-cyanoacrylates 3(g–i) were synthesized in good to excellent yields by the reaction of ethyl 2-cyano-3,3-bis(methylthio)acrylate 1 with secondary aliphatic amines (i.e., N-methylalkyl- and N ...

Autonomous Spatiotemporal Regulation of Reversible Hydrogel Actuators by Chemical Reaction Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Hydrogel actuators with reversible response to thiols are developed using reversible binding of thiols to Michael acceptors. Autonomous spatiotemporal regulation of reversible movement of these hydrogels is achieved using thiol‐based chemical reaction networks containing both positive and negative feedback.

Tooth fragment reattachment using cyanoacrylate tissue adhesive and flowable composite: An in vitro study

open access: yesEndodontology
Aim: Crown fractures in anterior teeth represent 18%–22% of dental hard tissue injuries. Immediate reattachment of the fragment using composite resin is the preferred treatment option. However, the reattached fragments are prone to fracture.

Advanced Mounting Technique for Improved Imaging and Analysis of Embedded Spheroids and Migrating Cells in Light Sheet Fluorescence Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A novel sample holder compatible with the Zeiss Lightsheet 7 microscope improves imaging of spheroids embedded in collagen matrices. By enabling dual‐sided illumination, it enhances image quality and quantitative analysis of migrating cells. This method advances 3D light sheet microscopy for studying tumor invasion and therapeutic responses.
