Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

Polyalkyl cyanoacrylate nanocapsules

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1986
Abstract In-situ polymerized methyl cyanoacrylate (MCA), ethyl cyanoacrylate (ECA), and butyl cyanoacrylate (BCA) were used to prepare nanocapsules of fluorescein or doxorubicin as markers by a w/o emulsion interfacial polymerization technique.

Superior Adhesion of Monolayer Amorphous Carbon to Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The adhesion energy of monolayer amorphous carbon on copper substrate is 85 J m−2, 13 times higher than that of graphene due to covalent‐like bonding between the sp2 carbon structure to copper. X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), near‐edge X‐ray absorption (NEXAFS), and (density functional theory) DFT calculations are used to elucidate the ...

Influence of loading speed on a change of parameters of adhesive bonds based on cyanoacrylates

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2015
The paper deals with a behaviour of adhesive bonds created by means of quick-setting adhesives at different speeds of a loading. The aim of the research was to simulate a change of a bearing capacity of the adhesive bond at marginal limits foregoing the ...

Evaluation of Lumicyano cyanoacrylate fuming process for the development of latent fingermarks on plastic carrier bags by means of a pseudo operational comparative trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
There are a number of studies discussing recent developments of a one-step fluorescent cyanoacrylate process. This study is a pseudo operational trial to compare an example of a one-step fluorescent cyanoacrylate product, Lumicyano™, with the two ...

Studies on a-Cyanoacrylate. IV

open access: yesJournal of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan, 1966
In view of the fact that alkyl α-cyanoacrylates are usually prepared by thermal degradation of the corresponding polymers, the degradation of polycyanoacrylates under nitrogen at 230-160°C was investigated by means of a heat balance. The degradation velocity of the polymer decreased in the following order: when anionic polymerization products were used,

Mussel‐Inspired Molecular Strategies for Fabricating Functional Materials With Underwater Adhesion and Self‐Healing Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review systematically examines the nanomechanical mechanisms of mussel‐inspired molecular interactions, primarily investigated by direct force measurement techniques such as surface forces apparatus and atomic force microscopy. The macroscopic adhesive and self‐healing performances of mussel‐inspired functional materials, including coacervates ...
