Development of 153Sm-DTPA-SPION as a theranostic dual contrast agents in SPECT/MRI [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences, 2016
Objective(s): This study describes the preparation, biodistribution of 153Sm-DTPA-SPION after intravenous injection in rats. Materials and Methods: The chelator DTPA dianhydride was conjugated to SPION using a small modification of the well-known cyclic ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Cyclic cohomology for graded $C^{*,r}$-algebras and its pairings with van Daele $K$-theory

open access: yes, 2019
We consider cycles for graded $C^{*,r}$-algebras (Real $C^{*}$-algebras) which are compatible with the $*$-structure and the real structure. Their characters are cyclic cocycles. We define a Connes type pairing between such characters and elements of the

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Comparison of Cyclic and Linear PEG Conjugates [PDF]

open access: yesBioconjugate Chemistry
Bioconjugation of polymers to proteins is a method to impart improved stability and pharmacokinetic properties to biologic systems. However, the precise effects of polymer architecture on the resulting bioconjugates are not well understood. Particularly, cyclic polymers are known to possess unique features such as a decreased hydrodynamic radius when ...

Synthesis of Peptidomimetic Conjugates of Cyclic Nucleoside Phosphonates [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Protocols in Nucleic Acid Chemistry, 2010
AbstractCyclic nucleoside phosphonates connected through a P‐O‐C linkage to a promoiety represent a class of prodrugs designed to overcome the low oral bioavailability of parent antiviral acyclic nucleoside phosphonates. In our prodrug approach, a nontoxic promoiety, such as an amino acid or dipeptide, is conjugated to the cyclic form of the parent ...
