Performance of Repaired Concrete under Cyclic Flexural Loading [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2021
There is limited research reported on the effect of cyclic loading on cement-based repair materials as conducting such tests is time consuming. To overcome this issue, this study utilized a novel loading regime consisting of cycle groups with increasing stress amplitude to accelerate the test process.

Biomechanical Performance of Menisci under Cyclic Loads [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Bionics and Biomechanics, 2021
The meniscus, composed of fibrocartilage, is a very important part of the human knee joint that behaves like a buffer. Located in the middle of the femoral condyles and the tibial plateau, it is a necessary structure to maintain normal biomechanical properties of the knee.

Cyclic-Coded Integer-Forcing Equalization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A discrete-time intersymbol interference channel with additive Gaussian noise is considered, where only the receiver has knowledge of the channel impulse response.

The q-ary image of some qm-ary cyclic codes: permutation group and soft-decision decoding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Using a particular construction of generator matrices of the q-ary image of qm-ary cyclic codes, it is proved that some of these codes are invariant under the action of particular permutation groups.

Inpainting of Cyclic Data using First and Second Order Differences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Cyclic data arise in various image and signal processing applications such as interferometric synthetic aperture radar, electroencephalogram data analysis, and color image restoration in HSV or LCh spaces.

Recursive n-gram hashing is pairwise independent, at best [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Many applications use sequences of n consecutive symbols (n-grams). Hashing these n-grams can be a performance bottleneck. For more speed, recursive hash families compute hash values by updating previous values.

Structure and performance of generalized quasi-cyclic codes

open access: yesFinite Fields and Their Applications, 2017
Generalized quasi-cyclic (GQC) codes form a natural generalization of quasi-cyclic (QC) codes. They are viewed here as mixed alphabet codes over a family of ring alphabets. Decomposing these rings into local rings by the Chinese Remainder Theorem yields a decomposition of GQC codes into a sum of concatenated codes.

Organising metabolic networks: cycles in flux distributions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Metabolic networks are among the most widely studied biological systems. The topology and interconnections of metabolic reactions have been well described for many species, but are not sufficient to understand how their activity is regulated in living ...

Second Order Differences of Cyclic Data and Applications in Variational Denoising

open access: yes, 2014
In many image and signal processing applications, as interferometric synthetic aperture radar (SAR), electroencephalogram (EEG) data analysis or color image restoration in HSV or LCh spaces the data has its range on the one-dimensional sphere $\mathbb S ...

Self field measurements by Hall sensors on the SeCRETS short sample CICC's subjected to cyclic load [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
An imbalance in the transport current among the strands of a Cable-in-Conduit conductors (CICC) can be associated with the change of their performance.
