Plastic Internal Variables Formalism of Cyclic Plasticity
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1976The notion of Plastic Internal Variables (PIV) is used in reformulating, in a general form, the equations of rate-independent plasticity. The stress, temperature, and the PIV are the state variables for the present development. Loading-unloading is defined in terms of the usual loading function of classical plasticity.

In this paper, the Preisach model of hysteresis, which was already successfully implemented for solving problems of cyclic plasticity of axially loaded bar and cyclic bending of elastoplastic beam, is extended to the structural analysis of trusses subjected to cyclic loading.

Cyclic plasticity phenomena as predicted by polycrystal plasticity
Mechanics of Materials, 2000Abstract The elasto-viscoplastic Taylor–Lin model of polycrystal plasticity is employed to simulate the cyclic behavior of polycrystalline metals. Uniaxial tension–compression as well as biaxial cyclic deformations are examined by imposing the strain amplitude. Microscopic hardening law is used to account for the self and latent hardening of the slip

Simplified theories of cyclic plasticity
Acta Mechanica, 1975Simple theories of plasticity such as flow rules associated with a single yield surface are sufficiently accurate in predicting plastic behaviour for monotonic loading. However, for alternating or cyclic loads, such theories cannot describe complex plastic behaviour with sufficient accuracy.

Cyclic Plasticity and Ratchetting
1994A robust kinematic hardening rule is proposed which appropriately blends the deviatoric stress rate rule and the Tseng-Lee rule in order to satisfy both the experimental observations made by Phillips et al. and the nesting of the yield surface to the limit surface.

Constitutive equations for cyclic plasticity and cyclic viscoplasticity
International Journal of Plasticity, 1989Abstract The cyclic constitutive equations developed and used at ONERA and LMT-Cachan are presented in detail in terms of a hierarchy of various models. Both the time-independent and the viscoplasticity versions of the equations are discussed, as well as their ability to describe correctly most of the experimentally observed effects under monotonic ...
