Correlation of cyclic preloading with the liquefaction resistance
Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, 2005Abstract The compactivity of sand due to cyclic loading with a high number (N>103) of small cycles (eampl≤10−3) cannot be described by void ratio and stress alone. It depends strongly on the soil fabric usually described as ‘cyclic preloading’.

Resistance to cyclic loading of teeth restored with posts
This in vitro study evaluated the effect of presence of post, presence of core, and of shape, type, and surface treatment of posts on resistance to cyclic loading of crowned human teeth. For all teeth, crowns designed without ferrule were cast in sterling silver and luted with resin cement (Panavia F).

Cyclic resistance of two unsaturated silty sands against soil liquefaction
The changes of the cyclic resistance of two silty sands under unsaturated, partially saturated and fully saturated conditions are examined based on a series of undrained cyclic tests conducted using triaxial test apparatus specially equipped for testing ...

Bacterial resistance to the cyclic glycopeptides
Trends in Microbiology, 1994Cyclic-glycopeptide antibiotics, such as vancomycin and teicoplanin, have been almost uniformly active against pathogenic Gram-positive bacteria since their discovery in the 1950s. Resistance is now emerging among enterococci and staphylococci by acquisition of novel genes or by mutation, respectively.

Cyclical Changes in Nasal Resistance
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1970AT ANY given instant, most individuals have a unilateral nasal obstruction. This obstruction is a normal physiological phenomenon due to turbinate engorgement. The obstruction changes in a cyclical manner from side to side throughout the day and night and yet the individual is usually unaware of this occurrence. So complete is the unilateral occlusion,

Cyclic Ratcheting Resistance of Buried Pipelines
Offshore Technology Conference, 2017Abstract Upheaval buckling (UHB) is a common issue for high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) pipelines. The out-of-straightness (OOS) of the buried pipelines combined with the high axial compressive forces induced by the extreme operating conditions causes the pipeline to move upwards till the downward soil resistance is sufficient ...
