Cyclic steps: Review and aggradation-based classification

Earth-Science Reviews, 2020
Abstract Cyclic steps are a type of upper flow-regime bedform consisting of trains of upstream- and upslope-migrating bed undulations. The overriding flow is characterised by a series of hydraulic jumps occurring in the troughs of the undulations.

Square wave electrolysis III. Apparatus for the cyclic potential‐step and cyclic current‐step methods

Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas, 1960
AbstractThe experimental setups required for the cyclic potential‐step and cyclic current‐step methods are thoroughly discussed. Attention is paid to the following subjects: conditions for linear diffusion, reference electrode, potentiostatic conditions, time‐symmetry of the applied square wave and deviations from coulomb‐symmetry.

Numerical simulations of transportational cyclic steps

Computers & Geosciences, 2003
Abstract A numerical model that couples water flow and sediment transport over a non-cohesive bed is developed to simulate the initiation and evolution of transportational cyclic steps. Transportational cyclic steps are periodic bedforms characterized by corresponding hydraulic jumps that form when a supercritical flow erodes and deposits bottom ...

A new step-by-step complete decoding algorithm for binary cyclic codes

2017 International Conference on Signals and Systems (ICSigSys), 2017
A complete decoder is one that guarantees to decode a received vector to its nearest codeword. For the design of an efficient complete decoding algorithm, storage demand and decoding complexity are two essential factors. Along this consideration, the Zero-Guards algorithm provides a significant improvement as the number of vectors required to be stored

On a Class of One-Step Majority-Logic Decodable Cyclic Codes

IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1980
Majority-logic decoding is attractive for three reasons: (1) It can be simply implemented; (2) the decoding delay is short; and (3) its performance, while suboptimal, is always superior to bounded distance decoding. For these reasons, majority-logic decodable cyclic codes are very suitable for error control in high speed digital data transmission ...

Investigations of the key macrolactamisation step in the synthesis of cyclic tetrapeptide pseudoxylallemycin A

Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2019
During total synthesis of pseudoxylallemycin A, an unstable intermediate was observed and appeared to be reactivated by coupling reagent by-products.

Cyclic imino ethers in step-growth polymerizations

Progress in Polymer Science, 2002
The synthesis of oxazoline and oxazine type monomers is explored, with focus mainly on those methods of most commercial significance. The many varied reactions of cyclic imino ethers with various other functionalities are also discussed, with the main focus being on those reactions most useful to form polymers.

Iterative multi-step decoding for a class of multi-step majority-logic decodable cyclic codes

2014 8th International Symposium on Turbo Codes and Iterative Information Processing (ISTC), 2014
This paper presents an iterative multi-step decoding algorithm for a class of multi-step majority-logic (MS-MLG) decodable cyclic codes. The proposed algorithm is capable of efficient decoding the MS-MLG decodable cyclic codes with large number of short cycles of length 4.

Replacement of a carbonyl group of cyclic ketones by an oxygen atom: A four-step transformation of cyclic ketones into cyclic ethers

Tetrahedron Letters, 1984
Abstract We describe a new and versatile method for transforming cyclic ketones into cyclic ethers with the same ring size in which the chirality adjacent to the carbonyl group of the ketones is retained.

Test on cyclic creep behavior of mucky clay in Shanghai under step cyclic loading

Environmental Earth Sciences, 2010
Based on the cyclic triaxial test under step loading, the variation of cyclic creep and pore water pressure with increase in cyclic stress ratio (CSR) and load cycle of mucky clay in Shanghai were analyzed. The results show that there are two threshold values of stability cyclic stress ratio and failure cyclic stress ratio during the step loading which
